Now let me tell you now – getting photos of mirrors is one tricky task if you don’t want to get you or your phone/camera in them! No matter what angle you take it from, there’s always the possibility of showing your own gormless face – however I think I have managed to capture the beauty of this mirror without getting myself in too many of them. In fact, Olivia has become so obsessed with it, there’s even a few photos of her with it!
You already know that we love travelling. We aren’t doing that at the moment, of course, but we are always looking things to make travelling that little bit easier. Now I don’t know about you but I need a mirror wherever I’m staying. This is usually okay if we are staying at a hotel but anywhere else? Not so much! I can’t carry around a massive mirror with me and a small compact mirror doesn’t do the job so what would work best? A portable mirror, of course!

Step forward the Malibu Portable Mirror from HD Mirrors. Retailing at £29.99, this is just the right size for packing in your suitcase or even a large handbag if space allows. It takes up very little room in a suitcase and has enough charge in it to last the entire holiday. This is because it comes with a 1000mAh battery and this provides a surrounding light which is super bright. There is also a USB cable included so if you do run out of charge, you can easily top it up.

The mirror itself is a gloss white colour and can stand up vertically, using one side as the stand. It really is up to you. Olivia loves putting it on its side, leaning against something too. She’s really into mirrors at the moment – she is loving her reflection and likes to put on different clothes or some of her kiddy makeup stuff or get her princesses and dance in front of the mirror – it is wonderful how much a mirror can aid a child in imaginative play. But back to me and what I think of it (even if she is trying to steal it from me for her room!).
The mirror is perfectly stored, closed in my nightstand drawer, or open ready for use, using one side as the stand. I can use it either in the daytime without utilising the surround light or when the dark draws in with a mere press of a button. The light is very bright, very illuminating, and really does help to show where you may need to make some touch ups. Once you have finished using the light, the brightness can be dimmed by pressing the power button in a long press.

The mirror is very light, very compact and a great size for travelling. The light is brilliant as it means you can use the mirror at any time of day. I also love that it can stand vertically and that the charge lasts for quite some time. We’ve had this for a few weeks now and I’ve used it quite a bit – and caught Olivia using it – and it is yet to run out of charge. I do love that it is a USB charge too – which makes it super simple to charge as you can slot it into any USB slot.
For £29.99, this mirror is a steal and will definitely be coming travelling with us when we can finally go. Would this be something you would take travelling with you?

Looks like a great mirror – great with a dimmable light too!
This is definitely something I would take travelling, so many times we have been away and the mirror is not in a suitable place for doing hair etc. I am off to have a look now
This looks brilliant, my eldest daughter would love this for doing her make up . The light on it looks ace!
The light would be super handy for travelling as I never find hotel mirrors are in quite the right place to do makeup compared to the light x
I’ve wanted a mirror like this for ages. I loved the review.
Oh wow, I love that mirror and definitely agree that it would be perfect for when traveling.
What a fab little mirror. I love my portable mirrors, more because I don’t have any on the walls right now.
