Five Ways To Relax This Weekend

Weekdays can be stressful and if you are working a normal 9-5 job, you can’t wait for the weekend. But does your mind really switch off when the weekend rolls around? I know mine doesn’t.

Working from home means I can work up to 7 days a week but I am now trying to take weekends off if I can. If I’ve got a big project I need to work on with no distractions I may move that to the weekend when I have more people around to keep an eye on Jack but other than that, I will always try to take weekends off.
So what five ways to relax will I be putting into practice?

1 | Catch up with the programmes on your DVR
I love nothing better than spending some time watching all the soaps and murder mystery shows that I’ve recorded. I can just chill out on the sofa, curl up under the blanket and get caught up.

2 | Read a book
This is one I really need to do more of as my to read pile is horrendous! I always like to curl up in my favourite reading spot and get lost in the story.

3 | Invite your family or friends round for a cuppa

I suppose this all depends on your family and friends – some families can be stressful – but come on how many of us love to flick the switch on our kettles and chill out with our favourite people for just a little bit?

4 | Light some candles

I am a big lover of scented candles and nothing relaxes me more than one burning away in the evening. I’m not a huge fan of lavender scents but they definitely do well in making sure I relax

5 | Pamper yourself

Perhaps the most obvious of all. Who doesn’t love taking a long hot soak in the tub with a good book and a face mask on before trying out all of their new products? This is perhaps my favourite way to relax – if I don’t have a toddler running in, trying to cause chaos!

What are your favourite ways to relax?

  1. Reading a good book.

  2. Lighting candles and pampering yourself… always a good idea and my idea of relaxation
