Sick Of Dating Apps? Here’s A Few Other Ways To Meet Someone New

Are you on the dating scene right now? Then you’ve probably had more than your fill of dating apps

It doesn’t seem to matter if you’ve been on them for 1 month or 21 months – they can make it soul-crushingly difficult to actually meet someone, even when you invest plenty of time and effort!

So maybe it’s time to get off the apps and meet someone new in a different way?

Join a Hobby Group

Nothing brings people together like a good hobby! And when you turn up to the same club, class, or group time and time again, you’re going to get to know people. You’re going to be expected.

And most of all, you’re going to get the chance to let people know you. And as that happens, you’re much more likely to actually start building a romantic connection with someone.

But, even if you don’t, you still get plenty of time to indulge in one of your favourite pastimes! When you join a hobby group, no matter what happens next, it’s a win-win!

Attend a Singles Night

Have you attended any Singles Events before? They range from speed dating to parties to activity evenings and so on.

And they’re great for just getting into a room with other singles, whether or not you’re out to find a life partner tonight or you just want to scope out the scene a bit more. Plus, when you’re all in one space, and the same reason has brought you all there, it takes the pressure off trying to start up a chat.

Singles events also tend to be quite accessible as well. They’re on in most towns and cities, and all you have to do is book a spot and then go along. It might take a little bit of courage, but keep in mind that you’re about to spend time with a bunch of other people in the exact same boat!

Start Chatting

That’s all it takes, more often than not. You introduce yourself to someone and you just get chatting. Whether you’re at a bar, cafe, library, park, or anywhere else in the world, when you start a conversation, it has the chance to go somewhere.

However, a lot of people struggle with that initial convo-starter that’s required here, and we don’t blame you!

It’s difficult to get someone to engage when you’re only saying ‘excuse me’ as you pass them by, or anything small like that. Because you don’t want to go too over the top either, and bother someone who really does not want to talk to you!

Do your best to test the waters with something a bit more straightforward yet creative. For example, if you’re at a bar, ask someone what they’re drinking and if they recommend it. Just something friendly but not too heavy, and then see what happens next!

If you’re sick and tired of using dating apps, you might find the methods above a bit more fulfilling!
