We were kindly sent these items and store credit to aid with creation of this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Christmas is very much a family time for us as it probably is for most people. I love spending time with Steve and the kids and seeing various family members over the holidays. However this might not be possible this year.
We usually spend Christmas Day with my mum and/or Steve’s brother before heading up either a couple of days before Christmas or a couple of days afterwards to see Steve’s parents and some cousins he has who live near his parents. We are still waiting, of course, to see if lockdown will be lifted in time for Christmas so we can see any of them.
Knowing that people will be struggling at this time of year with the thought of not being able to see their families at Christmas and being able to exchange presents, Moonpig are giving people the chance to show that they care from afar with wonderful cards and gifts available on their site.
Since we most likely won’t be seeing many of our friends and families this festive season, we too will be buying gifts online and sending them through the post. We were sent a variety of items and some store credit for items to gift this festive season.

Gin House Gift Set – £20 {available here}
We will be gifting this to Steve’s uncle and aunt hopefully. We don’t get to see them often enough as it is and this year has made that even more impossible. A gift like this will show that we are thinking of them.

OPI Shine Bright Christmas Cracker Gift Set – £16 {available here}
I normally see one of my best friends, Laura, at least a few times over the Christmas holidays but this doesn’t look like it is going to be possible this year. I will be gifting this to her as she loves nail lacquers – especially OPI!

Nutcracker Treat Tin – £30 {available here}
Full of festive treats, I’m considering sending this to my in-laws as we normally always turn up with some festive treats and vice versa. However, Olivia has grown quite attached to the nutcracker and wants him standing guard by our Christmas tree…

‘Magical Christmas Morning’ Yankee Candle Gift Set – £15 {available here}
Who doesn’t love a Yankee candle especially when it is Christmas scented? This is such a wonderful gift set and would be perfect for my mother in law!
As I mentioned, I was also gifted some Moonpig credit so I picked up a few more items to send to friends and family. Moonpig have a great selection of cards so I picked up these two – one for my Mum in case we don’t get to see her and one for friends who live in the Midlands.

I also chose another foodie gift, this Snowy Christmas Sack which we will probably be gifting to one of our friends that we would usually see but won’t be this year.

Moonpig make shopping for people far away so easy and they are a fantastic resource, especially at this time of year and when many of us won’t be seeing our loved ones. I found the process of shopping easy and they have such a wonderful selection of gifts – there really is something for everyone which I think is great!
So how can you make the most of Christmas across the miles? I’ve got some top tips for you:
- Show them you care – Even if you can’t see them to exchange cards or presents, that doesn’t mean you don’t have to get them anything. Use Moonpig for all your card and gifting needs.
- Utilise technology – Just because you aren’t in the same home, it doesn’t mean you can’t do things together. One of our fun festive things to do is the Big Fat Quiz of the Year when the TV show is on. Why not all pop on Zoom and do something like that together? Or watch the big soap shockers together?
- Enjoy the smaller Christmas – If we don’t get to see our families and friends as much this Christmas, try not to be sad. Why not try to enjoy the smaller Christmas and see what its like?
I’m so looking forward to Christmas and although I am looking forward to seeing family and friends if I can, I am getting myself prepared in plenty of time in case this won’t be the case.
How will you be showing family and friends you care from afar this year?

I’ve often turned to moonpig for gifts and cards, it is so simple to use and nice to know you are able to treat someone even when you can’t see them in person or get out to post something yourself.
Moonpig has a great range of gifts which are perfect for sending to friends and family. I love making personalised cards!
Cards will be sent, possibly with a short letter written. Technology will be made use of.
In the past we have had family and friends who lived some distance away. We were unable to visit each other at the festive season. We would send Christmas cards, gifts (via the post / mail) . Calendars sent via the post for New Year.
Technology has improved opportunity to keep in contact, etc :- When family and / or friends live a distance away, and unable to visit at the Festive Season, etc.
Choice has increased in regards to cards, gifts, calendars, etc which can be ordered and delivered to loved ones.
We never realised MoonPig did so much – we just thought they did cards only! How cool is that? perfect for relatives and friends that live up and down the country!
I’ve never considered Moonpig before but you have given me food for thought.
I do love Moonpig, I use it a lot for friends and family who do not live close but recently I have used it more often for obvious reasons.

I love Moonpig and often get their cards, did not know they do all these wonderful gifts as well. A great way to still send family and friends Christmas gifts as we wont be seeing many of them this year. Totally loving the Nutcracket and the Yankee Candle Gift Set
I think it’s so good that you have one-stop shops like Moonpig where you can send a card and some presents straight to someone for Christmas x
There are so many great options on the site. Love the candle selection. That looks perfect for my sister.
The love the nutcracker tin, my kids are obsessed with collecting them, so would adore this
I will either send presents in the post or drop the presents on the doorstep for family and friends nearby.
There are some nice gifts on the moonpig site, I usually only buy cards from there but this year it looks like a good option to send gifts too x
