Ever wanted a candle to be a work of art? Then this Dreki dragon candle is perfect for you. Retailing at £29 and available in red, green or black here, this candle is ever so unique and melts down to reveal the sculpture underneath.
The candle arrives, packaged well in a lovely monochrome box. The candle is packaged in plastic and is quite substantial – there is plenty of wax to be melted so you know this will slowly burn and take its time to reveal the sculpture within.
As the molten wax drips, it creates some stunning formations but also reveals the fabulous dragon figure below. The embers glow and it really is a sight to behold as the wax melts.
Each candle has a burning time of approximately 20 hours. I would say ours took a little longer than this but then we also did have to keep stopping and starting due to having to go out for various reasons – after all, you aren’t going to leave a candle burning whilst you are out the house! It has taken us a few weeks to finally burn the wax down to the end and finally reveal the sculpture within properly.
As the website mentions, each candle is unique and so will burn in its own unique way. The website also recommends placing your candle on a plate with a minimum diameter of 10 inches/25cm to contain the wax as it melts. We chose to collect the wax in a plastic tub as we didn’t want to risk ruining any of our plates – wax can be tough to get off sometimes!
As you can see, the wax melts and reveals the dragon in the most amazing way! Both the kids have been enamoured with it, eager to see the dragon appear more and more.
How amazing is this dragon? The kids absolutely love him and he will be going high up on their bookshelves when we finally move Olivia into Jack’s room – they’re both so enamoured with him!
I will admit he is a bit flimsy which did surprise me a little, hence why I will be putting him up high in the kid’s roon. I expected it to be a little more rigid, especially when so close to a hot flame and encased in wax for so long. However, he is great to look at and the whole experience of burning the candle down to reveal the dragon is super fun.
There are other Pyropets available including cats, unicorns, deer, dogs, owls, rabbits and birds! So many to choose from.
I really do think these are a wonderful gift idea for Christmas – especially if the person loves both animals and candles! Which Pyropet would you choose first?

I have seen these before and now have one ready to light! I think they are amazing! I love the cool metal bones and skull on the inside! Its good to hear that it lasts quite a while of burning. Nothing worse than a candle that is over and done with in a hour.
This is so cool! I love that you not only get the candle (which alone looks fantastic) but also the sculpture. I think I would go with the Kisa Burgundy or Dyri Burgundy candles. They’re beautiful!
What a unique idea. I can see that the kids would be fascinated with the slow reveal!

I’ve bought two of these for my sisters for Christmas . They looked amazing , thanks for sharing them in action!
This looks like so much fun. My stepson loves dragons and dinosaurs but isnt bothered by candles which I love so this would be a good way to get him interested! xxx
This such a nice gift idea. It’s different from what I’ve seen before and kids would love making them.
What a brilliant idea. The dragon is almost to pretty to burn, but love that you get a keepsake from it
