Now I don’t know about you but I take a lot of photos. I have many photos of the kids, of our pets, of our holidays and am always looking back on them with fond memories. We have had some wonderful holidays, some wonderful experiences and I love having a visual representation of them.
But how better can we bring our photos to life? I’ve been thinking of different ways and one of our favourite things to do is get our favourite photographs put on canvas. We have quite a few canvas prints in our house – our collection started with a photo of myself and Steve with a newborn Jack, taken in the hospital. Since then, we have adorned our walls with various photos and memories with the kids and animals including summer holidays and snow days.
Back in the day, people used to print out their photos and pop them in photo albums but this seems to sadly be dying out. A great alternative to this is a photo book – you still have your photos in physical form but all in one place and not as likely to fall out of the book! We are all so used to storing our important documents and memories digitally and it is a shame that so many photos get stuck, stored on our phones and other electronic devices, never to truly be seen again.

Our home is our hub and I love to have photos of all our favourite times around. All the important moments in our lives are around our house in some form as I think it is important to have them on show so that we can look back with fond memories. I really feel that using photo products, especially personalised ones with important photos, can help to make a house a home, whether you own the property or not. They really can provide a great focal point and look great too.
I’ve spoken before about why wall art is a must in my home – whether that is canvas prints or posters. I also love creating photo books for specific events – we have one for our trip to Rome, one for our holiday to Cyprus – all big occasions.
We had the pleasure of going to a party recently where they had hired a professional photographer. Obviously, we are used to lots of photographs being taken at parties but the photographer was very different to what I’ve experienced before. As soon as the photos had been taken we were able to see them and receive them by text message.
At the press of a button the photographer was able to print the photos out instantly which was great. We went home with half a dozen prints and also the digital versions to share on the family Whatsapp group. I wish more parents did this at parties!
I’ve got a few favourite photos that I am yet to do anything with – Olivia’s first day at nursery, for example; or a wonderful photo I managed to get of Buddy, our Dalmatian. These are all really important photos and I would really love to bring them to life rather than leaving them stored on my phone or camera. All my pieces of wall art have an important meaning to me and I can’t wait to add to them.
How do you bring your photos to life? Do you have wall art in your home?

I agree, I used to have so many large albums and often showed it to friends when they came around but this tradition is dying and we need to preserve it. I have lots of canvas prints around the house especially in the kids rooms
Not through a wall art but I still keep some pretty thick photo books! it was the trend that generation lol!
Most of my photos are on my phone or laptop. But I have recently got a few photo magnets made. They look really great and I love looking at them every time I go to the fridge.
It is great to have wall art in the home. Even better when it’s images you’ve taken yourself of the family, kids etc.
I am one of those people who still prints photos, although I’ve definitely taken a lot less of them over the past year where we’ve not really seen people x
I rarely print out photos and the only ones we display are the kids school photos!
I have a stack of photos on my laptop that I need to do something with especially as I realised the other day that we hardly have any of the kids out – even though we take loads.
I love old photos, my father recently passed away and I find much solace in looking through his photos. Great article!
