It seems there are subscription boxes for everything now from makeup and skincare to food and much more. Now it seems books are becoming part of that phenomenon too!
For £18.99 a month, children aged 0-5 years can receive up to four books based on their ages and developmental needs from Bookbuggy. This is a great way to build your little one’s library and nothing can beat the excitement on their faces when a parcel arrives for them.
We were given the opportunity to trial a box and see what we thought:
First of all, I love how the books are packaged. In a simple cardboard box with a label to tell you where the parcel is from. Inside the books are carefully bubble wrapped to keep them protected and a leaflet is put in to tell you a little more about the books that have been chosen.
Jack was sent three books this month – one simple story book Go Gorilla, a more interactive one in Moving Blocks and my personal favourite, On My Potty. We are currently potty training Jack and until this book arrived, he just wasn’t getting it. Whilst we haven’t got much further on the journey, Jack now understands what the potty is and what it is to be used for – next step is to actually get him to use it which should be easy with continued reading of this book.
Jack really loves the Moving Blocks book personally – he loves that the finger holes mean each page is something different to what you expect. I also think he likens the design of the book to his Megablocks as I keep finding them grouped together!
Jack isn’t too interested in Go Gorilla at the moment, preferring the other two. It is a welcoming addition to his bookshelves, however, and will be read and loved over the next few months.
This is definitely a monthly subscription worth having – I shall probably be signing up after Christmas as it is something that Jack will truly love.

My only concern would be the price £18.99 a month is a Lot – Ethan has a LOT of books but almost all bought in a sale or on offer or just because they're cheaper than they used to be.
The idea is amazing – Just as long as the books are worth that sort of money 🙂 Ethan would Love getting that in the post, he loves books and he's obsessed with the post (so much so that when we move out my mum is planning on posting him things just so he has things to open 😀 )
I like the idea of it and the surprise of getting something you may not have seen or thought of before but also think the price may be a little high. up to 4 books for 18.99 is not good value compared to shops like the works or the book people where i go for my bargain books! it would be good if they did different price plans like a premium or bargain rate depending what kinda books you want. i would be quite interested in this kind of scheme for early readers though as my 5 year old gets through a lot of reading books

I like the idea of this as well, again price is an issue! What do you make of the quality of the books as in the way they are made ?
They are fantastic quality- quite durable especially with a temperamental toddler. I understand why price is an issue though x
This is awesome but I have no child lol.. You shall defiantly be my go to mum when I do have a baby though 😀 x
I liKe the concept and idea of it but at the price I'm not so sure. Sometimes I really don't like a book, and neither does Rio..which is fine when you've got them on offer but with something like this I don't koow. Maybe just get one book a month sent? Keeps its fresh and interesting x
I think this is a lovely idea but the price is too much for me as I usually buy bargain books from The Works, charity shops etc.
This is a really wonderful idea, especially for parents (or even single parents) who are on the go constantly and find it difficult to go book shopping for their bubs! Makes life a bit easier and you get things like the potty book that you may not have thought of earlier! xx
