Best Bedroom Redecoration Ideas

Collaborative Post

Are you planning to redecorate your bedroom? The following guide will help you to do so in a way that best suits your needs, preferences and budget!

The primary feature of any bedroom is of course the bed itself. You should first think about whether you’d like to have it replaced. If so, the most common sizes are single, double, king and queen-sized beds while some popular designs are platform, sleigh, storage, fold-up, canopy and posted beds.

Either a storage or fold-up bed can help you save on room space. Other ways to achieve this are by having a headboard fitted which comes with storage, adding shelves along the room’s perimeter if needs be, hanging laundry on the back of the door and by having a fitted wardrobe installed.

In the case of the latter, this type, unlike a standalone wardrobe is built right into the bedroom walls. As a result, they do not protrude outwards so much and you’ll be left with an overall more spacious room.

For even more convenience and style, you should consider getting a sliding fitted wardrobe! Prices for fitted wardrobes range from a few hundred pounds for regular designs to several grand in the case of a Bespoke installation.

How about the walls? You may wish to redecorate them by adding fresh coats of paint or through new wallpaper. Some of the most common wallpaper materials/types are vinyl, flock, foil, liner, printed, bamboo and mylar. Regardless of which approach you take, light colours are generally the best options for a bedroom. Examples include lavender, soft green, pale blue, aqua, beige and light grey.

It may also interest you to have new flooring fitted. Some of the most frequently used types of floors are laminate, softwood, hardwood, carpet, vinyl, parquet and bamboo. According to HomeHow carpet is one of the cheapest forms of flooring available. It also provides a soft underfoot but timber flooring is long-lasting, easy to clean and very aesthetically pleasing. Laminate flooring is especially good at resisting scratches and harm from impacts. Other flooring types have their own advantages.

Whichever flooring type you choose, it’s important that you’ve done research first to check out the pros & cons of each and the costs involved in their installation.

As this article has shown, there’s a lot you can do to give your bedroom a new lease of life. Keep an open mind and take your time planning out your new design. That way, you’ll be well on your way to completely revitalising the look and feel of your bedroom!

  1. We did our bedroom when we first moved in 6 years ago, definitely time to update it all!

  2. We are doing our whole house at the moment as we are doing a renovation. We are keeping the original wooden flooring but giving it a new varnish
