I have written about my home at length on this blog. What I would change, what I like, what I don’t like. If I could describe my feelings about this house, I would be a very happy and less confused person. We lived at my parents house for the first month of Jack’s life (after having to move in when I was pregnant) and I think it says something that my home phone number is under my home whereas my parents is under Home. I feel like I am reluctant to really call this my home when I know that we could receive our notice at any time. We have been here over 2 years now and have brought our son up here – it’s all he knows – but I am so reluctant to let myself feel like it is home after how upset I got when we had to move out of our cottage at 6 months pregnant.
Does this ever change? I feel like I will finally be able to call somewhere else home (that isn’t my parents house) once myself and Steve have actually bought a place of our own – something I don’t see happening in the near future. Yet I get this overwhelming sense of sadness everytime something reminds me that our living here is never going to be a permanent thing…
Does anyone else ever feel like this?

I can definitely understand that feeling – I've never been able to really settle into a rented place without feeling the same thing! x
yh definitely understand that feeling I hate renting as it means we keep moving all the time and u can't do certain things cuz of rules etc so it dnt really feel like home.

Ahhh I know exactly what you mean. We rented the same place for 9 years and even then I couldn't allow myself to feel too 'comfortable' just incase we were asked to leave. Renting is a difficult situation to be in especially when you have a child. Buying your own place does really help. If you're not in a position to buy is there no way you can get a council house? I'm pretty sure they need a VERY good reason for asking you to move out & maybe that way you could be a bit more settled until you buy a place. Hugs and good luck 🙂 xx
We rent too, it bugs me no end that we are paying someone elses mortgage but at least if it all falls apart we don't have to pay to fix it. I cannot wait to get our 'forever home' but it is probably still a way off being that I am firmly in the minus figures…
we'll get there, one day!
