I recently shared a giveaway of a Bed Guru Mattress Protector and said I would come back to tell you my thoughts a couple of weeks later. Here I am with my thoughts so far. We have a king size bed so opted for that size.
The biggest thing for us was that it was entirely waterproof. Despite Jack being four, he does still occasionally come into bed and does occasionally have accidents so we wanted to ensure our mattress was completely protected from this. We have been through a number of mattresses in the years – one we had to get rid of when Jack was little because it was wrecked and then we have also had two since then from buying new beds and reviews – but we don’t plan on getting a new one for a good few years yet so need to ensure that it is protected to the max.
We were sent the Premium mattress protector from Bed Guru which is ‘made from a cool Terry Towelling, providing cushioned protection. The protector is waterproof, anti-allergenic, prohibits the growth of bacteria, whilst allowing air to freely pass through.’ The Premium mattress protector retails at £27.99 and is soft and cushioned, thanks to the terry towelling. It does not feel uncomfortable which is always a concern when it comes to mattress protectors – you want to have a good nights sleep in the knowledge that your bed is protected, not lay awake all night because you are in discomfort.
So how did we get on?
So far, we are really impressed. Jack has only had one minor accident though but the protector definitely protected against that. It would be interesting to see how it protects against a larger amount of liquid but I am pretty happy we haven’t had to cross that bridge yet. The protector is super cushioned and comfy and hasn’t affected our sleep at all. Very impressed.
