A Cheeky Little Treat With Takeaway.com

Steve and I love a takeaway but rarely get the chance to have one nowadays. We occasionally treat ourselves but being on a budget, takeaways don’t factor in too often. When offered the chance to review Takeaway.com, we were very excited. We had previously tried similar services like Just Eat and Hungry House so wanted to see how Takeaway.com matched up to them.

The website itself is pretty clean and uncluttered and it is easy to find everything. Up the top is the customer service and account options but the main option which everyone looks for is the order option – and this takes pride of place in the middle. All you have to do is fill out your postcode and the list of restaurants available in your area will pop up.

We opted for Mumtaj, a restaurant in our area that we had heard plenty of great things about. The menus themselves are easy to look at and it is easy to find what you are looking for – the categories make it so simple to find that other thing you want, rather than scrolling down. Reviews and more information are easily available at the top plus the overall review result is shown too.

We chose our favourite curries of all time – a chicken korma for me and a chicken pathia for Steve. Payment was easy. We were gifted with a code for the purpose of this review and it was simple to find where to place the promotional code, however payment by card seemed relatively simple too – just pop in your details and you’re sorted.

The whole ordering process and delivery process was very easy. We did encounter a little hiccup when we received a phone call from our restaurant of choice to tell us they don’t normally deliver to our village but they would on this occasion. This wasn’t through any fault of Takeaway.com as restaurants are asked where they deliver to when enlisting on the site. My village postcode comes under the same postcode as some of St Albans so the restaurant should have clarified that some postcodes were excluded. The restaurant themselves admitted that it was their fault, apologised and delivered anyway which I thought was good.

Despite the little hiccup, I was very pleased with the ordering process and the food was divine – the best curry I have ever tasted. We have tried curry from other places since then and none have matched up to it in terms of standard – so we are planning a meal there soon!

If you are looking for a new takeaway to try, definitely take a look at Takeaway.com – they have such a variety of restaurants to choose from and the ordering process is super simple. You won’t be disappointed.
