It isn’t often I talk about designer items on my blog, preferring usually to focus on the high street side of things as I know only too well how it feels – being unable to afford every new thing that appears on the market. There are only a few designers that I can honestly say I am truly interested in, I’m much more of a beauty fan than a fashion follower. One of them happens to be Alexander McQueen, perhaps one of the most iconic British fashion designers of all time.
I kept a keen interest in his career throughout my teenage years and into my early twenties and was quite shocked when the news broke of his death in 2010. Since others have taken the helm as director of his label, my interest has only increased – I’m always lusting after items I probably can’t afford.
With mine & Steve’s 4th anniversary just around the corner (and our first as an engaged couple), I put together a little collage of some items I would love to be wearing on the night. We haven’t set any plans in stone as of yet, but I definitely want to make the night special – and wouldn’t a designer item do just that?
I have picked a few different items here, some for me and a couple for Steve as I couldn’t really leave him out, could I? I chose the shoes purely because I seem to be lacking in elegant flats in my shoe collection right now. I have a vast variety of boots and trainers, some heels and perhaps one pair of battered flats which only serve one purpose: saving my feet from the pain of heels! I also picked the gorgeous cat eye sunglasses as I just couldn’t resist. I am not a big sunglasses wearer seeing as I have to wear my glasses 24/7 and have yet to sort out a pair of prescription sunglasses for myself – call me lazy.
I also picked two items for Steve that I’m sure he’d love! He wears a lot of polo shirts so the skull shirt was a no-brainer. He also tends to live in his battered old trainers so a new pair of Puma Summer Joust Lo’s from the Alexander McQueen range at Puma would be a treat.
Of course, this couldn’t be a designer wishlist, let alone an Alexander McQueen wishlist, without including the infamous skull scarf. I have lusted after one of these for as long as I can remember and owning one is something I plan to do before I die. I even bought the River Island copy a couple of years ago after seeing it on another blog! However, nothing can replace the real thing and I am looking forward to the day when I finally get my hands on what will become my most prized possession.

I've got a post planned not too dissimilar…only it features my first ever designer bag purchase, yep, an Alexander McQueen…*squeeeeeeeeel* – I very nearly popped a skull scarf in with my purchase too but thought it might just tip the credit card over the edge!!x
