Even though money is a little tight at the moment and we are saving every penny towards the wedding (with a few minor hiccups, £1500 mechanics bill anyone?), it doesn’t stop me thinking about what I want when it comes to my big day. I have previously mentioned wanting a videographer and a photo booth, ideas Steve seems very on board with but after reading Nicola’s latest post, all about her wedding cake, my mind has constantly been filled with cakes of every size and shape!
In fact, my mind is so full of cakey goodness that I even created a separate Wedding Cakes board on Pinterest away from my Wedding Inspiration board. It is more than likely that Steve’s cousin will be making our cake and I know that she will want to make it truly special so we will have to decide what we want. As you can tell from the pictures above, I seem to have pretty much neglected the idea of a plain white wedding cake – opting for more colourful or more daring schemes. My favourite right now has to be the Nightmare Before Christmas themed cake at the top, although I know that is one thing Steve would never agree to!
We are so lucky that we have people wanting to help us out as much as possible with this wedding, just like Nicola! I think it is so incredible that her friend is buying it for her – how sweet is that? I am overwhelmed with the offers of help from friends such as my best friend Michelle and of course, my buddy Clare who is perhaps the most avid reader and commenter of my Wedding Planning Wednesday series. I am hoping she lets me write about her hen party for the blog if possible *hint hint Clare!*
When it comes to a wedding cake, I am still undecided on what I want for definite but I do know I don’t just want a plain wedding cake and I don’t want a cupcake tower either – I really need to sit down and think (and perhaps spend a little more of life on Pinterest) working out what will fit us as a couple – what would you say?
Also, the lovely Nin asked if I would ever consider turning WPW into a linky. As I know a lot of people post their wedding posts on a Wednesday (alliteration and all that!), I thought it was a fantastic idea! I can’t wait to read all of you wedding posts!

My 'I dont want a plain white cake' kind of changed to a 'i dont mind if its cream though…' when i saw my cake at a wedding fair its completely plain top two tiers and a ruffled bottom tier, complete with burgundy ribbon and vintage brooch!
LOVE the vintage brooch idea!x

Wedding cake gets me so excited! I still have a big part of mine (the teacup and some of the flowers) on a plate as a decoration! I'm sure it'll fall apart soon but I'll keep it as long as I can! x
