So Valentines Day is over for another year and the next occasion rolling around for me is Mother’s Day. I know most people associate Mother’s Day with lots of pink and floral items – but that isn’t me. I’m sure my own mother would love a floral card and a teddy with a pink heart from me, even if I am 24 – but I prefer much more practical presents.
Steve can be quite thoughtful when it comes to presents from either him or Jack – for my birthday, Steve got me some clothes I really wanted and Jack got me a book that has been on my wishlist since way before it was released. For Valentines Day, Steve bought me the most beautiful orchid – proving he really does listen sometimes after all. I had some bad news late last night but looking at that orchid made me feel a lot better, more secure. So how can he go one better for Mother’s Day?
I mentioned before that I like practical presents – well…nothing is more practical than shoes, right? My shoe collection has been rapidly depleting in this awful winter weather we’ve been having and I can’t really go waltzing about in heels all the time.
By far and away, my favourite brand has to be converse. Their shoes are just so practical and versatile – perfect for any sort of weather. I actually haven’t had a pair since before Jack was born so it would be a nice present from Jack on Mother’s Day. I’m getting tired of alternating between the same two pairs of shoes day in, day out – especially when they are showing signs of potential breakage soon. That definitely wouldn’t be good in these weather conditions! Now how do I tell him sneakily?
Mind you, a bunch of flowers, some chocolates and a teddy wouldn’t go amiss either….

Leave your laptop open on a page of converse in your size that you like. Do this nearly every day…. : ) x
