Out There Interiors Fretwork Nightstand

We moved into this house in January 2012 and I have been wanting a night stand/bedside table ever since. However, although we have quite a large bedroom, there is limited space on both sides of our bed – Steve has the old boiler cupboard (now a wardrobe) on his side and I have a canvas wardrobe for all of my clothes on my side. The space is almost non existent and I haven’t been able to find something that would slot neatly into place that also looked pretty…until now.

The upstairs phone, my phone, any particular book I’m reading, a notepad & pen plus my glasses – all these would be on the floor next to me whilst I slept. Whilst there was no danger of me stepping on them when I woke up, there is the slight danger that my hyperactive toddler may run in one morning and trample all over them! This is where I am grateful that Out There Interiors asked if I wanted to review something from their website, which you can find here.

After browsing for a while, I came across the Fretwork Nightstand (RRP £79) and knew it would be perfect for my needs. Pretty, petite and plenty of storage. I’ve had it a couple of weeks now and I wouldn’t be without it!

I love the fretwork design of the nightstand – it makes a simple piece seem much more elegant and attractive. The unit is fairly simple to put together – it came with the four legs separate but these just needed to be screwed in by hand – a simple job that took a matter of minutes. The nightstand itself is fairly sturdy – Jack actually climbed from my bed onto it – but I wouldn’t suggest putting too much on it to be safe. I like to keep a handful of things on top of my table and then I use the drawers for storing items away from grubby toddler hands.

I currently only have my notepad and pen in the drawers – this is because Jack with a pen means this nightstand would no longer be white..I cannot take that risk, haha! There is no doubt I will probably put plenty of items in there over the next few weeks as I move my makeup and skincare storage around – I currently have my lipsticks on the computer desk, my skincare on our shared chest of drawers.. It needs to be changed around!

I had to put I Love Blogging sign from the Secret Santa Blogger meet onto one of the drawers as I haven’t got a clue where else to hang it! I currently have my Kindle, my next book of choice, our house phone and some essential products on top of the nightstand. I can guarantee there will be more sitting there soon!
