Spring Cleaning

As a work at home mum, sometimes housework can take a slight backseat. Trying to juggle work, family time and blogging means I get a little behind – however, I try to dedicate a specific time each day to doing those menial household tasks. I hate washing up so I now listen to music or watch Youtube videos at the same time – after all, no one else is going to do it! With us moving out soon, cleaning is even more important – we will need to get an end of tenancy cleaning company in to make it spick and span, perhaps Easy Living Cleaning!

To help with my spring cleaning, I was recently sent some products from Two Fingers. I’ve never really spoken about cleaning on this blog before but I was intrigued by the claims Two Fingers make. Their products are non hazardous and all their ingredients are natural, biodegradable, renewable and sustainable resources. I often pick up the expensive cleaners in the supermarket and shudder at both the price and the ingredients. I had been thinking about making my own for a little while after a suggestion from a friend so was really interested to see if Two Fingers could do the job for me.

I was sent 4 50ml bottles of different cleaners and 4 reusable 500ml spray bottles. To make up the sprays, you must fill the spray bottles a third of the way with water, then add the corresponding cleaner, fill up with water and shake. I have tried all of these and am pretty impressed!

The best of the bunch is definitely the multi surface cleaner. Multi surface cleaners in general are the most needed thing when it comes to cleaning and I decided to give my kitchen a deep clean with these products. The multi-surface cleaner left my kitchen sides sparkling…only for them to be wrecked hours later when we decided to do some baking! I am yet to try the floor cleaner as I need Steve to be at home to distract Jack for long enough for me to tackle the floors (he does shift work so it has literally been me and Jack constantly for the past week or so!). The bath and shower cleaner is pretty good too – I am going through it so quickly though!

If I had to pick the worst of the bunch, I would have to say the glass cleaner. This isn’t to say it is a bad product, not at all! No matter what materials I use, I always get streaks across my glass after using this that I can’t seem to get off – although this seems to be a problem with most glass cleaners I have used!

These are definitely worth a try if you want to break free from the chemical nasties in the other brands available on the market.  Two Fingers currently offer a cleaning box for £12.99 which includes all of the above plus 4 high quality microfibre cloths! This deal can be found here. This is perfect if you are on a budget but still want to try some non hazardous cleaning products!

How are you getting on with your spring cleaning?

  1. These actually look really great 🙂 I've been making my own vinegar sprays lately in a bid to save some pennies! xxx
