London With The Kids: Keep Them Occupied

This is a sponsored post

Anyone who has decided to make the trip to London with their children will know that it’s not easy keeping them entertained in this incredibly daunting city. In a sense, the older they get, the easier it is, but unless you have a packed itinerary to hand, it can still be difficult. If you are heading for our capital with the children this summer, make sure that you have plenty of ideas up your sleeve, so that boredom doesn’t rear its ugly head at any point. Book a family room at a central Travelodge and add some of these fab time-fillers into your schedule to guarantee smiles on all of their faces.

Hamleys
If you’re planning on dragging the kids around the various shopping haunts that London has to offer, make sure you stop by what is arguably one of the biggest and best toy shops of all time. Situated on Regents Street, it’s right in the heart of London and a stone’s throw away from a range of fashion stores so that you can enjoy some retail therapy, too.
Kids will love Hamleys, and so will you. Yes, it’s busy, but it’s totally worth it.
Disney Store
If you’d prefer to avoid Hamleys, you should at least make a stop at the Disney Store. Its two floors are full of goodies from all corners of its franchise, including a load of new merch to coincide with the latest favourite kids film – Frozen.
Rainforest Café
Located on Shaftesbury Avenue, the Rainforest Café is themed like – as you can guess – a rainforest. It’s recommended to book a table; try to arrive 15 minutes before your allotted time and don’t be late, because they will give your table to somebody else if you are. You won’t find anywhere else in London where you can dine in quite the same environment – with Amazonian trees and wildlife all around you.
West End
The West End isn’t just for grownups, and there are loads of superb shows suitable for children on at the moment. Roald Dahl classics – Matilda and Charlie & the Chocolate Factory – are making a real splash, and if your kids are lovers of these fantastic books, they’ll LOVE the stage shows.
Natural History Museum
Museums don’t have to be drab and boring, and London museums are far, far from it. Head to the Natural History Museum for a chance to see the towering Diplodocus replica, as well as a massive range of exhibits and displays covering all aspects of natural history.   It’s so much more interesting than your average museum!
The London Dungeon
Perfect if you’re travelling with older kids, The London Dungeon is full of blood-curdling fun that will leave you all wanting more. Delve into the gruesome history of the city and learn more about some of its sordid characters, including Sweeney Todd, Guy Fawkes and Jack the Ripper.

And that’s not all! Other top attractions include the London Eye, London Zoo, the Science Museum and the Sealife Centre – the list is endless!
