What Is Killing Your Confidence?

Collaborative Post

There is no better accessory than a big dose of confidence! Walking into a room with your head held high and confidence running through your bones can completely transform the way you look and the way that others view you. However, the trouble is that most of us struggle for an ounce of confidence. With that being said, it is important to be aware of the most common confidence killers so that you can tackle them head on and win the battle. So, let’s get started…

Lack of preparation – They often say if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. It is only natural that you will be feeling a bit self conscious if you have not prepared for a situation. The solution to this is obvious: prepare more! Perhaps you feel like you do not have the time? This is where better scheduling and organisation comes in.

Appearance issues – A lot of people lack confidence because they do not like the way that they look. How you act now depends on the type of appearance issues you are suffering from. If there is one thing that is holding you back, for example, you don’t like your teeth, you could always look for dentists in your area like Dental Excellence so that you can treat yourself to a new smile so that you feel better. However, if your appearance issues run deeper and you feel like you will never be happy with the way you look, you may want to consider seeing a therapist so you can get rid of these negative thoughts. You may feel that this seems a little bit drastic, but a therapist can help to unlock where these feelings are stemming from so that you can get rid of them once and for all.

Past failures – Past failures can often hold us back and prevent us from achieving future greatness. It can be difficult to come back from past disappointments. However, you need to remember that failure is not fatal. We all make mistakes in life. It is how you learn from that matters. See your past disappointments as an opportunity to better yourself going forward.

Comparison – Last but not least, this is one of the biggest confidence killers, and it is only getting worse and worse because of the digital age that we live in. If you spend your time comparing yourself to people on Instagram and Facebook, you will know exactly what this means. Rather than focusing on other people, you should compare yourself to the person you were a year ago and better yourself in this regard.

As you can see, there are many different things that can kill your confidence. If you have noticed any of the confidence killers that have been mentioned above in regards to your own life and how you feel about yourself, you will know exactly where to start when it comes to tackling your confidence issues and winning the battle you have inside.
