About The Book
The day Hattie Brown got pulled through the fridge was the same day everything started to disappear from the house — but missing socks were about to be the least of her troubles. Hattie Brown lives a quiet life with her mother. That is, until the day she’s pulled into the magical realm of Somewhere-Nowhere.
This new world – full of tiny dragons, talking elephants, and enormous worms – has lost its clouds, so when Hattie realises she has the power to make it rain, there’s hope she could be what this strange place has been waiting for. But not everyone is pleased with Hattie’s arrival.
Ruled over by the cruel Lord Mortimer, Somewhere- Nowhere is in trouble. And when Hattie discovers that he’s hiding an army of kidnapped children, she doesn’t care who wants her there and who doesn’t: nothing is going to stop her rescuing them… not even the arrival of a boy they call Nimbus.
Jack’s Review
Having to self isolate for two weeks meant Jack has had plenty of times to read and he recently read this book that he was sent for review. Telling the tale of Hattie who was pulled through the fridge, the book is a wonderful adventure and follows Hattie as the heroine who is going to save them all.
Jack found the book very entertaining because of the characters, especially Victor the elephant – who doesn’t love a talking elephant? He found it really thrilling as Hattie battled against Lord Mortimer and wanted her to defeat the Lord. As he raced to the finish of the book, he hoped that Hattie would win and be able to make it back home safely.
Hattie is a really strong character and knows what she wants and how to achieve it. The world of Somewhere-Nowhere is intriguing and Jack would love to visit himself!
Overall he really enjoyed the book and would love to read more in the series.

I think it’s great that the lead was a strong female character and it sounds like a modern day Alice in Wonderland which makes me love it even more x

I like this book. I am going to get two copies. One for my grandson and the other copy I will donate to their school library. It would be nice to get kids to love reading, instead of being glued to smartphones and video games.
This sounds like a great book and one that our youngest will love. I always buy books for the kids in my life at Christmas so will be adding this to the list as a few are the perfect age for this book.
