Christmas Gift Ideas For Children

In the first of my gift guides, I wanted to share with you some awesome Christmas gift ideas for children. This gift guide will feature items for babies to teens and all the ages in between. Enjoy.

Babies don’t tend to need much at Christmas time – they don’t really know what is going on at a really young age so the normal presents of choice are clothes, money or cuddly toys. A gorgeous personalised baby vest (£14.99) would make a great alternative present and would be a great keepsake for the future too.

If looking for something for your toddler, why not consider the Noah’s Ark Shape Sorter (£28.99)*?This is the perfect gift for ages 3 and up, improving hand/eye co-ordination whilst they play. As you can imagine, the animals go up two by two into the ark by going up the pull-down ramp. There is a shape sorter and all of the animals are magnetic, making for hours of fun. There is even a carry handle which makes it much easier for your toddler to carry it round from home to their grandparents or wherever they choose to go.
My son Jack has actually been playing with this non-stop since it was delivered. All other toys have been rejected in favour of this. He loves matching the animals up into pairs, popping them through the right shaped holes or marching them up the ramp. He hasn’t got too many Bigjigs wooden toys but we’re definitely thinking about picking a few more up for Christmas.

For the little princess in your life, there are a number of items on the market that may be perfect. One of my favourites is the Disney Princess Snow Globe Maker (£14.99). Children choose their scene and princess, add the glitter and snow then twist the princess to see her dance. The globes are reusable too – definitely something to get any child into the Christmas spirit.
If that isn’t quite your little girl’s cup of tea and she loves a bit of Lego, how about the LEGO Disney Princess 41054: Rapunzel’s Creativity Tower (£27.99)? Including two mini dolls of Rapunzel and Flynn plus Pascal the Chameleon, this Lego set offers a variety of things to do to keep your child entertained for ages!

I know that this next item is currently on a few children’s wish lists as their parents have told me  – the John Adams Golden Coin Maker (£16.99)! Melt, wrap and stamp chocolate golden coins and medals – what’s not to love? Whether your child will actually let you try one or eat them all themselves remains to be seen!

A pretty obvious choice for the teenage boy (or girl!) in your household (or 27 year old man in my case) is a Playstation 4. That is the only real thing that he wants and I’m sure the same could probably be said for most households with a male under the age of 35! Whilst I’m still not sure whether he will be getting it or not, its a great choice if you have the cash to spend.

If the PS4 isn’t on your child’s wishlist, I’m guessing a tablet or a phone probably is. It is quite hard to find tablets for a decent budget nowadays but this 7″ inch Touch Screen Allwinner Android 4.0 Tablet is surely a winner for just £31.50? Teens would only need it for the basics and if they wanted to upgrade, they could still use this whilst learning the benefit of saving up themselves for things that they want. A present and a lesson in personal finance? Lucky them!

  1. Is it bad that the Repunzel lego is right up my street? LOL

PS4 is my nightmare present for the 24 year old child in my life too. He really wants it! so do I to be honest… looks really good. He also wants it in white just to make life a little bit harder!

    great post Bex 🙂

  2. I love that Twinkle Twinkle Little Star romper suit. It's so cute. As a child I wanted a video recorder and always had a Blue Peter annual lol

  3. Jess Maryy says:

Great ideas! The Playstation 4 looks like the perfect gift for my 10 year old nephew 🙂

  4. I love the Noah's Ark. Always tricky to find meaningful gifts for little ones. It would actually make a lovely Christening gift too.

  5. I really am not a fan of Lego friends, it feels like the lovechild of Lego and playmobil. It's wrong I say.

That tablet though, you can't get second hand tablets that cheap – trust me I've looked!
