Food & Drink, Reviews

Degustabox | August

We were sent the August Degustabox for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

It is that time of the month again, we’ve been sent our box full of tasty food and drink goodies to review. So what did we find in our Degustabox this month? You can purchase your own here for £12.99 a month, including delivery! The items always far exceed the price you pay. Here’s what we thought of the contents this month:

There was an interesting mix of food and drink products this month, for sure!

Rowntrees Randoms 30% Less Sugar Pouch – £1.29

As with most sweets that make their way into my house, these didn’t last long at all! They have 30% less sugar, no artificial colours, flavours, preservatives or sweeteners. They were super tasty!

Boka Bar – 75p each

We received the Choco Mallow and Apple Cinnamon bars. These are low in fat, saturated fat, sugars and salt. They are also under 100 calories! They weren’t the best cereal bars I’ve ever tasted but they’d do – they had some good flavour.

Dorset Cereals Spectacular Grains cereal – £3.49

These are made with toasted spelt flakes and popped grains. Steve is the only one to have tasted it – he said it was okay but tasted a little bland. He added some extras to his cereal to really pack a punch!

Good Hemp Unsweetened Dairy Free drink – £1.60

We don’t use dairy free products so I’ve popped this in the food bank for someone in need! It is made from organic hemp seeds and it is 100% natural, vegan friendly, free from GMOs, dairy and lactose, gluten, soya and nuts.

Maggi 3 Minute Noodles – chicken flavour

I always love a pack of chicken noodles, so handy to have in the cupboard for a quick lunch!

LioBites Smoothies Bites – £1.99 each

We were sent two different flavours – the mango, banana and passionfruit smoothie bites and the mango and coconut smoothie bites. These were very popular with everyone in the house. Packed full of flavour, they gave a good crunch but were also melt in the mouth delicious. They’re healthy so a snack I am happy to give my children – if me and Steve haven’t finished them off first, that is! These were by far our favourite thing in the box.

John West Infusions Salad Tuna Fillets – £2.29

Since Jack and I are the only ones that like tuna in the house – and since he doesn’t like chilli – these are a perfect lunch option for me. I’m yet to try them as I’m saving them for lunch next week but if they’re like other John West products, I know I will be impressed.

Maggi Fusion Sticky Hoisin Duck Noodles – £1.39

I’m pretty sure we’ve had these before in the box. As I mentioned with the chicken noodles, noodles are always a handy thing to have in the cupboard and these are delicious.

Illy Instant Smooth Taste coffee – £5.85

We don’t drink coffee in our house so this will be going to my in laws. This is a unique 100% arabica illy blend and I am sure my in laws will love it.

Gunna Craft Soft Drinks – £1.09 each

We were sent the natural gingers and cola tonic and the natural ginger and aromatic flavours. Mine was interesting – I tried the natural gingers and cola and it tasted like Pepsi Max ginger but nowhere near as intense – the ginger flavour was quite weak. Steve tried the ginger and aromatics and said it tasted just like any of the top branded fiery ginger beers.

Crooked Beverage Co. Alcoholic Soda – £2

We were sent the peach and pomegranate flavour and Steve had most of the drink – although I tried a bit. He really enjoyed it – it was like a fruity cider. It contains less than 5g sugar and has just 46kcal per 100ml – and is made with all natural ingredients. It was very tasty and we’ll definitely be trying them again!

The box worked out to be worth around £23 which is well over the £12.99 price tag – very worth it! As always, we enjoyed a lot of the products and are passing on some others that we won’t use. Which would have been your favourite product in the box this month?

  1. I do like degustabox. I have the Spanish version and I am always happy with the products inside. I like discovering new flavors.

Oh that’s great! I’ve never seen them before. Great way to try things before buying in bulk isn’t it!

  3. Looks fab! The peach and pomegranate drink sounds very nice. We received the Degustabox a little while back for over a year but started noticing some duplicate content so stopped getting it. x

  4. Sounds like an interesting mix of products! I’m a big fan of Dorset Cereals and that one looks super! Intrigued by the alcoholic soda too!

I’ve seen this box before but haven’t got one yet – looks like a great deal and a good way to try lots of new brands
