I don’t know about you but I often find myself at plenty of festive parties in December. We’ve already had a couple and still have quite a few more before Christmas Day actually arrives.
I don’t tend to drink too much nowadays but I do enjoy a tipple over the festive season. The drinks I drink throughout the year tend to be quite summery so I tend to veer towards other flavours over the Christmas period – the coffees, the spices, the ones that make your tongue tingle. I also tend to head to the local coffee shop for their festive offerings too, I just can’t get enough.
On a day’s Christmas shopping, I am sure to head to the coffee shops and get a festive hot chocolate, maybe even a festive latte if I am feeling adventurous. When it comes to the evening, I love nothing more than meeting friends for dinner at Christmas time and indulging in an espresso martini or a Moscow Mule after the plates have been cleared away. You must be having a similar time of it, plenty of Christmas meals and parties that you just have to attend, plenty of social gatherings where you can enjoy some lovely after dinner drinks with your friends and acquaintances.
Dinner plans often have to be scheduled in advance when it comes to December – places get booked up so easily and quickly so close to Christmas – that it can sometimes be difficult to find a place for dinner and drinks with your girl friends. However I’ve already got a few dates in my diary and can’t wait to go ahead, have some food and drink and have some fun with the friends and family that want to spend some time with me.
If an espresso martini or Moscow Mule is unavailable in the bar or restaurant, then I may just go home and make my own – all I need are a few simple ingredients, mostly some Absolut vodka. I always have a bottle of vodka in my house so this shouldn’t be too much trouble and I can still enjoy my favourite after dinner drinks without missing out on them.
