Lumie Bodyclock IRIS Review & Giveaway

During this pregnancy, sleeping has certainly been a problem. Either I can’t sleep or I’m so fast asleep, I can’t wake up! This doesn’t help when you’ve got a partner to get up for work (who would hit their snooze button a trillion times if they could) and a child who either gets up at the crack of dawn or could sleep for England and refuse to get up for school.

I had been looking at various products to help ease us awake gradually and in a refreshing way and came across the Lumie Bodyclock IRIS. It is also effective for healthy sleep, sports training, energy at work and is a useful complement to a lightbox in treating SAD which is a condition I know plenty of my friends suffer badly with in the winter months.

I was kindly asked if I would like to review one and I just had to say yes – the combination of a healthy night’s sleep and some aromatherapy oils was too much to resist. These are great features – I love the fact that you can control it by using a remote control and change the intensity and/or duration if required. For people like Steve, there is a snooze feature and the fact that there is a security option to turn on the light at random times if you’re away is ingenius – how many of us worry about our homes whilst on holiday?

This has so far been really great for us. We are big lovers of aromatherapy oils and have a large collection so we have been switching out certain oils for certain times of the day to maximise the effectiveness of the bodyclock. Lavender is a perfect oil for bedtime and a zesty one is our current oil of choice in the morning.

I have also been using this as a bedside light for when I retire to bed super early due to being exhausted. I’m at that stage where I can’t sleep but am so tired so I tend to sit or lay upstairs and read until my eyes start to droop from the combination of the book and the Lumie bodyclock. This makes a great bedside light and has also been a great night light for when Jack has come into our room when poorly – if Steve is on a night and Jack’s not well, he will always end up in our room but hates the dark. I don’t want to keep the landing light on so this is a good compromise.
