Wow, after a very quiet week 24 in my pregnancy diaries, week 25 sure did prove itself to be a busy and dramatic one….
The week started off fairly quietly with Monday and Tuesday being quite slow in terms of anything happening. I went to Slimming World on Tuesday morning and have usually been gaining 1lb a week which I wasn’t too unhappy about seeing as I am pregnant. This week was a gain of 2lb and now I am back under a stone loss. I know that obviously this is to be expected with pregnancy but it did make me feel a bit deflated and made me so eager to get the baby weight off again once baby girl is here – hopefully breast feeding and the school runs will help as well as perhaps a weekly run with friends whilst she has some Daddy/daughter/Jack time!
Tuesday evening saw me having to fast from 10pm. Wednesday saw my glucose screening test which was where I had my first blood test (still fasting) at 9.45am and then straight after was given one of those horrid high glucose drinks. They say it’s pleasant tasting but it really, really isn’t. Then I had to sit in the waiting room for TWO hours (still without eating) before having yet another blood test before being sent on my merry way. As it stands I haven’t received a phone call and I apparently should have by now so it looks like I don’t have gestational diabetes, yay!
However I felt so ill on Wednesday afternoon and this was soon followed by throwing up for the rest of the evening. Whether this was related to the glucose test (which my midwife seems to think it was) or I’d caught the bug Jack had, who knows? But it really wasn’t pleasant.
Thursday I felt a little better but still not 100%. Jack and Steve also weren’t feeling great – Jack was still suffering with the bug that has been going round and so he had the day off school. I felt much better by the afternoon so ventured down to the shops with my Mum accompanying me – just in case. It turns out that just in case actually happened as I felt really light headed in the Post Office whilst choosing some birthday cards before everything went black and then apparently I fainted. I came round on the Post Office floor but luckily because my Mum was with me and I grabbed her as soon as things turned black, she stopped me from falling back really hard and actually lowered me to the ground.
Waking up on the ground was terrifying and Mum called Steve and Jack from their sick beds to come and get me in the car. I came home and laid down but have been feeling better ever since. After speaking to my midwife she thinks it was related to the day before but blood pressure, blood sugar levels and of course, urine sample will be tested at my next appointment which is this Friday (meant to be yesterday but that’s a whole other story of someone mucking up). If anything should happen or worry me between now and then, I need to call one of them or the hospital I will be delivering in.
As you can see, week 25 of my pregnancy diaries has been a dramatic one – and here was me apologising last week for boring you all.
If you’re pregnant, how has your week been?

Hope your ok after fainting, that can really take it out of you even if your not pregnant! Hope all your tests come back ok for you
Thankfully your mum was with you at the post Office, what a dramatic week indeed! Hope things are better now. R
Sorry to hear about the sickness and fainting, make sure you get plenty of rest. Also please don’t worry about the weight gain, it means you’re growing a healthy bubba in there. Jo c
Hoping your feeling better and Week 26 is not as dramatic for you! xx
Glad you are okay and your mom was with you at that time. Take care dear. Lots of love your way.
What a crazy week, I hope you’re feeling better and have been resting up since your hospital visit and your faint. x
Wow! A really rocky week, just try to take it easy and not over do it.
What a busy week. Pregnancies are always busy.
Oh gosh Bex you never said you fainted, I hope you are feeling better, this little miss is going to be a right handful isnt she! x
