I’ve been self employed for quite some time now. Working from home, trying to hit deadlines, working around a child – it can be difficult sometimes. Then you have the months where the work is really lean and you’re struggling to get by – I do have some long term clients but I always take on small jobs during the month too, every little helps right?
Well despite working from home for such a long time I still hadn’t perfected my home office. I call it a home office but it isn’t really, my desk is in the dining room. However I hadn’t yet got it perfectly how I wanted and I’m not entirely there yet – but its a start. My desk for once is amazingly tidy and organised and I have a fabulous new piece of tech too which is handily assisting me in my day to day working life – the Epson ET-4500 EcoTank Printer (RRP £299.99).

As you can see my desk is really organised now (apart from the shelf which has lots of important slips of paper that I need to go through!). I have my pen pot, my USB, my notebooks (of which I have plenty!) and my beloved Epson ET-4500 EcoTank! So what exactly is so special about it?
The Epson ET-4500 EcoTank printer has:
- An ultra-high-capacity ink tank system which completely does away with the need for ink cartridges
- Two years of ink – four colour 70ml Epson genuine ink bottles are included in the box with purchase
- It saves on printing costs – printing up to 4,000 pages in black and 6,500 pages in colour.
- Wi-Fi printing capacity – can print using Wi-Fi from a smartphone using the free Epson iPrint app, print remotely or email the ET-4500 a print job.
- Quick results

My old printer guzzled ink like nobody’s business so when asked if I would like to review the Epson ET-4500 EcoTank I was more than happy to oblige. I wanted to see just what was so different about this printer – how ink bottles could replace cartridges, how they didn’t need to be replaced for so long and just how Wi-Fi printing works. Of course I cannot yet know how well the ink sustains – I’m nowhere near using the ink up but I will be keeping a note of the dates to see just how long it takes before the ink is all used and will update this review in due course. I bet its in almost two years time!
The Wi-Fi printing capacity is actually my favourite function of the lot. All too often I am upstairs in bed looking at something on my phone and think that I would like a copy of something. I then think that I will leave it until morning and have forgotten by the time I have woken up. With the app I no longer need to worry and can print from my phone. Same for if I am using the laptop in the living room rather than the desktop in the dining room – I can print out without needing to move a muscle. This is so handy for me! With the capability to print remotely (as my phone and printer have an established connection), this is even better – it means I don’t miss out on anything at all!
So what was the first proper thing I printed out apart from some test sheets? Well it had to be some printables from some fellow bloggers of mine – the 2016 blog goals & stats printables from Life In A Breakdown and the Daily Blogging Checklist from Oh So Amelia. With these fab printables now printed thanks to my fab new Epson ET-4500 EcoTank, I can stick them to my wall and really make my home office feel like ‘home’ and make 2016 my year.
If you are looking to cut costs when it comes to printing, perhaps this is the printer for you. Whether you work from home, own your own business or have a child who is constantly using the printer for homework and coursework, this will surely be a handy addition to your household.

I don’t have a printer at all! It’s something that’s on my list of things to get but other things keep becoming an priority! Love that it comes with so much ink and the WiFi capability is definitely something that would come in handy! Glad it’s working well for you!
I really need a new printer ours costs so much to run the ink seems to last 1 print! (Well not really 1 print but you know!!!)
This sounds like such an amazing printer, I really need to try and get myself a new one at some point, perhaps this should be the one. x
Cute little printer! We keep buying cheap printers but never end up using them. We’re lucky enough to work in offices during the day so we use printers there to print stuff. Thanks for sharing the links to the printable x
I just sold my printer. Need to get another but want to sort out our home office first.
I love the wi-fi capability of this printer – very useful indeed! It sounds like the high capacity of ink is a brilliant idea too. It would be interesting to see the cost of using this printer compared to a traditional printer.
That looks like one seriously swish piece of gear! My ancient printer (even though it is wifi) is old and could use replacing…
I would love to have a desk to work at but I live in shared accommodation and space is limited. The printer sounds great too!
I really need a new printer! Thanks for this
I’m lucky because my husband works from home so we have an office up in our loft – plus I have IT support – bonus! We could do with a new printer though.
Wow what a mean machine! We only have a black & white printer but constantly bullying my husband into upgrading, will make him read this post!
Fab little printer, I love that it has wifi capabilities as I hate cables being everywhere. I currently don’t have a printer so I’ll look into this!
This printer sounds pretty decent! I’m in need of a new one so will defo check this out 🙂
Well this sounds like a really handy gadget to have and I love that it has WIFI options too x
