It isn’t often that I get to spend time just chilling out with both the kids. They’ve both got plenty of clubs and groups that they do and even when they are both in the house, getting them to both to sit down and relax can be tricky. The only time we manage it is if we watch one of their favourite shows together. We’ve recently discovered 44 Cats which is a TV series on Nick Jr that has just been released on Freeview on Pop TV.
The show is about four cats – Lampo, Milady, Meatball and Pilou – they even have a band called the Buffycats. Each episode has an underlying message of friendship, helping others and diversity which I think is fantastic from a children’s TV show – it is so important to teach them to be caring of others.
The kids each have their favourite cat. Jack loves Lampo whilst Olivia loves Milady. Lampo is the lead singer and guitarist of the Buffycats. A tabby cat, he also has a blue lightning symbol over his right eye. Something cool about Lampo is that his whiskers act like a compass and guide him where he needs to go.
Milady is the bassist – and her fur turns pink-purple whenever anyone tells a lie. Wouldn’t that be so handy with kids if their hair turned a different colour every time they lied? Meatball is the keyboard player who has a big appetite and can sense danger whilst Pilou is the drummer. She has big wide eyes which she uses to distract the villains.
There are plenty of other side characters who are so much fun too!
We’ve really been enjoying watching the show recently – seeing the cats fight crime whilst also being all singing and dancing. The kids love the songs and love the storylines, hoping to see the cats win out in the end. We’re always hoping to catch a new episode – the kids love it when they manage to find one, either on Nick Jr or Pop TV.
Why not give an episode a try for yourself? Your kids are bound to love the interesting storylines, fun characters and the music! Have you ever watched the show before?

Oh my goodness my daughter would absolutely love this – she is mad about cats. I’ll have to let her know when she is back from school.
I am sure that my son would enjoy this. I’m not sure how we haven’t come across 44 cats before. Sounds like it has some good messages for kids.
I don’t think I have watched a cat related cartoon since Top Cat! Our kids are all a little too old for this now but I still might have to check it out, purely for research purposes!
It’s a bit young for my two – but it looks fun
Will have to show this to Eliza – she watches the same thing over again and I need a change LOL
Awww it sounds cute. Totally something that my kids would enjoy watching, we will have to check it out!
MY son is absolutely mad about cats and I hadn’t heard about this show so we’re definitely going to have to give it ago! Thanks for the review 🙂
My boys are both crazy about cats. I think they would love this. Thanks for the tip!
