It’s a term that’s regarded as crucial in the dynamics of a successful relationship – but it’s also one that can be very easy to lose control of.
Put simply, date night is something that should be incredibly easy to execute. After all, spending quality time with your better half should be natural, not forced.
However, in eras where we seem to get busier by the year, it’s perhaps a little harder than it should be to make the most of. At certain times of the year these difficulties are amplified and as today’s title may have highlighted, winter is one of these periods.
Bearing this in mind, today’s article is going to take a look at some of the ways you can keep date night hot – even in the depths of winter.
There’s nothing wrong with keeping things at home
We get it, it’s cold. However, we’re in 2022 – you don’t have to venture out to the cinema or your favourite restaurant to have a good time. That’s the stereotypical classic, and it’s easy to get bored.
In fact, some of the best date nights can be had without even having to leave the front door. There’s something very romantic about getting all dressed up and then not having to leave the house.
Whether you choose to order a takeaway, have a few drinks or even just watch a film, the main thing is that you’re spending time together.
Get creative with your locations
Of course, we understand that not everyone is going to want to spend their entire date night cooped up indoors.
If this is the case, then you need to get a little creative with your locations. For example, why not take a winter walk together?
There are plenty of picturesque locations across the country that look even better when blanketed in snow.
Alternatively, think outside the box with your choice of bars and restaurants. Forget the typical high-street establishment, and instead consider something a little more intimate (there are some real gems around the Covent Garden area).
It’s all about pushing boundaries and truth be told, this can apply all-year round, not just in winter.

Make the most of the festive period
The Christmas period is a great time to get out and about and make the most of date night.
Whether you choose to go ice skating, visit a festive market or simply enjoy a romantic meal, there are plenty of options available to you. You can also explore different types of dinner dates, from cozy Italian trattorias to lively BBQ spots, or even indulge in London steak dining for a special and memorable evening.
In short, embrace the additional options over Christmas!
Plan ahead
Finally, the last tip we’re going to leave you with is to try and plan ahead as much as possible. This is by no means a necessity, but it will certainly help to take the stress out of date night.
If you know you’re going to be busy over the next few weeks, try and schedule in a date night or two. This way, you won’t have to worry about trying to find the time last minute.
Plus, it’ll give you something to look forward to!
