4 Reasons to Love a Volkswagen Beetle

Even if you’re car blind and find cars, on the whole, all look the same to you, there are probably a couple of cars you could identify in a line-up if pressed. Tell me if I’m wrong, but I’m willing to bet one of those cars would be a Volkswagen Beetle.

The VW Beetle’s immediately recognisable features are just one of the reasons for its iconic status and enduring popularity. There are plenty more reasons to love a Volkswagen Beetle and I’ll have a look at a few below.

Volkswagen Beetles are cute and colourful

VW Beetles are undeniably cute and this quirky cuteness has to be one of the main reasons for anyone buying a Bug.

Although VW Beetles are available in dull and dreary colours such as grey, brown or dark blue, a Bug’s charm and character is better brought out in bright colours such as pink, red or yellow.

But if you’ve got your heart set on a Beetle but can only find one locally in a boring, corporate colour, you can always get it sprayed a different colour by a car paint specialist.

You can bling them up

VW Beetles are the perfect car for a bit of bling. Take eyelashes, for example. Sticking eyelashes onto the front of most cars – a Mercedes, for example –  is just going to look downright stupid. You may – perfectly reasonably – think sticking eyelashes onto the front of any car is going to look downright stupid but, let’s face it, they do look kind of cute on a VW Beetle. No? Just me? Okay.

They’re compact

If your tank-driving 4×4 friends complain about never being able to find anywhere to park, you can imagine their jealous faces as you smugly nip swiftly into a tight parking space. As anyone with a car and no off-street parking knows, finding somewhere to park near your house can be a nightmare. With a smaller car, you have more options.

A VW Beetle’s compactness doesn’t mean they’re cramped though – quite the opposite. With the Beetle’s high roof, they’re perfect for taller people, unlike sporty little numbers that you can barely squeeze the driver in, let alone a passenger or any shopping.

They have all the latest features

Despite the new VW Beetles keeping the charm and character of the original ones with their retro curves, Beetles have thankfully got all the premium features you’d expect in a new car such as Bluetooth, sat nav, heated seats and voice control.

They’re also full of safety features such as airbags, blind spot monitor and anti-locking brakes.

Reasons to love a Volkswagen Beetle

Let’s face it, people usually buy a VW Beetle because of its looks, but they’re not purely style over substance so, if you’re on the lookout for a new car, why not buy a Bug?
