The fashion colors for 2022 have been announced! Some pastels survived, but some interesting new colors are entering the mix of favorites for this new year. Let’s take a look at some of the color choices and how they might be displayed in other fashion areas this year.
Kelly Green
Kelly green is a rich color that looks perfect on metallic fabrics, geometric designs, and in sheer clothing as well. There are so many different applications for Kelly green, and it’s ruling the runway in the 2022 season. If you’ve got any Kelly green fashions tucked away, dust them off now!
Lime
This brighter, more vibrant green isn’t at all like the earthy greens of 2021. The answer is this eye-popping shade that brings life to just about any piece, especially when paired with a dark grey or black.
Bright Orange
Bright orange is in. And not just slightly bright orange – full neon orange. Make sure to break out your sunglasses! This color is sure to make it onto a variety of cornerstone pieces, so be prepared to learn to love it.
Eye-Popping Yellow
Yellow is going to be another extremely bright color this year. Pastel yellow is long gone, and in its place, we get the sunniest of shades. It’s a happy color, but you’re sure to be seeing a lot of it in the coming months.
Fuchsia
Since fashion seems to be trending towards brighter colors than we’ve seen in a while, it’s only natural that we get to see fuchsia and other bright purples in action. This purple stands out, draws the eye, and is incredibly dynamic. You can pair it with a lot of the other colors we’re seeing this year.
Bright Blue
It’s quite a year for blue! There are four different popular blue shades on display, but this bright, mysterious blue sets our sights high. It’s bright enough to fit in with the other neon shades. There is something dark about it, too. We can’t wait to see how it’s utilized!
Hot Pink
Hot pink is back! Rejoice! This hot, neon shade is perfect for splashes of color or making a bold statement. Try color blocking with it – it’s so dramatic!
Electric Red
Speaking of drama… Electric red enters the scene! We haven’t seen a color quite this bright in the last few years, so it’s nice to get a peek at some lovely new options.
Teal
After all the bright colors that are going to be popular in the coming year, we were a bit surprised to find a more subdued teal shade in the mix. While it’s still bright, it’s also deep and comforting. Hopefully, we’ll see it paired with some of the brighter shades to calm down some wild patterns.
Mocha
Naturals are always a safe bet for fashion. Some people can’t stand bright colors, so there are other options! This mocha color is very warm and might do well in the colder months. Pair it up with some of the greens we looked at above for a nice, natural calm.
Icy Blue
Icy blue was another surprise. It’s a calming color with clear skies in mind. We can’t wait to see how it’s used!
Pastel Pink and Blue
Against all odds, pastel pink and blue are still going strong for 2022. These shades are gentler on your eye than all of the bright options above. For those who wanted to use some of the pastel pieces from 2021, this is great news.
Herb Green
Sage was a popular color last year, so it’s no surprise that a classic herb green showed up again. However, this year it’s a darker, deeper color with less of a lean towards pastel. We’re sure it’ll show up on some of the more muted pieces of 2022.
Conclusion
This list of 2022’s upcoming color trends looks like a blast! Look out for women’s clothing with a mix of these bolder, brighter colors and a continuation of the muted, pastel trends from the last few years. The good news is that you can reuse some of your popular pieces from the last few years. It’s even better if no one’s seen them yet!
