Both Steve and I are big foodies. We love our food and trying new things, new flavours, giving things a different spin and making them Slimming World friendly. I was recently contacted by the team behind MOR sausages asking if I would like to try some of their range. We love sausages in this house so I immediately said yes – but then realised that since we were both on Slimming World, I had better check the syn value. With each sausage 3.5 syns, these are actually some flavourful sausages on the lower end of the syn scale and we have been enjoying using them in our various recipes. We’ve recently found a new favourite recipe and have actually been using the MOR sausages in it to give it a bit more flavour – read on after the review for the recipe.
We were sent four different flavours: chicken, sundried tomatoes and basil chipolatas; pork, super green veg and lentil sausages; pork, beetroot and Bramley apple sausages and Moroccan spiced pork, cauliflower and chickpea sausages.
I was pleasantly surprised by the flavours – they all seem very unique compared to other sausages on the market. We are all so used to the normal pork and leek or pork and apple flavourings that these make a refreshing difference. Just the addition of the beetroot to the Bramley apple sausages gave such an impact to the flavour.
We’ve been using these in various recipes and really enjoying them – each sausage or chipolata is packed full of flavour, is gluten free so suitable for people who have to avoid gluten like my mum, and are full of goodness. Our most successful meal so far was Steve’s chicken and sausage tray bake recipe which is Slimming World friendly and works out roughly 3,5 syns per portion – we usually get 4-6 portions depending on how its made.
Slimming World Friendly Chicken & Sausage Tray Bake (serves 4-6 people)
What You Need:
4 to 6 skinless chicken thighs
6 sausages, each sausage cut into 3 pieces (for this recipe, we used the MOR pork, beetroot and Bramley apple sausages )
3 potatoes, peeled and chopped into cubes
3 to 4 carrots (speed food!), peeled and sliced
2 to 3 parsnips, peeled and sliced
1 red onion (speed food), chopped into wedges
2 peppers (optional)
1 OXO Stock Pot Garden Vegetables with Parsley and Bay (free on SW; can use other varieties but check syn values)
Method
Preheat the oven at 180°C.
Par boil the potatoes, carrots and parsnips for 15 minutes.
Cook chicken in oven for 15 minutes whilst par boiling the veg and then remove from oven.
Once veg is boiled, remove from pot and use the leftover water to make stock with the Oxo stock pot.
Layer all the ingredients in a roasting tin and pour over stock.
Put in the oven at 180°C for 45 minutes – 1 hour.
Once the cooking time is up, you will be left with a super tasty, super speedy Slimming World friendly dish. If you are like us, you may like to change things up by using different sausages, stocks and veg to see what you come up with. Just remember to check the syn values and whether the veg you are using is simply free on the Slimming World plan or if it is speed food.

As you can see, we have really enjoyed taste testing the MOR sausages and will definitely be using them again in future recipes. What would you be most likely to make with these sausages?

I must pass this recipe onto my sister! She’s doing slimming world & it sounds amazing! xo
Love these flavour combination. I’m also following SW so would love to try them.
Ohh I have heard about these sausages. Can’t wait to try this recipe out! L x
I never heard of Mor, I will look pout for it next shopping trip R
They are the most imaginative sausage flavors I have heard of! And chicken sausages too!
Sounds like a delicious recipe! I’ve never heard of these sausages before, but I will definitely give them a go if I spot them! I tend to just stick to Quorn sausages, but they can get a bit boring!
Who that looks so amazing. My family would love that for dinner. Thank you for sharing this review.
These sausages looks and sounds tasty. However I don’t eat meat but if I were to eat sausages I would go for the healthier kind. Great review x
