Yesterday I shared my fashion, beauty and accessories gift guide for Father’s Day.Today I am sharing with you my top picks for food and drink.
There should hopefully be a mix of products so you can at least find one thing that is perfect for your father, in laws or other half. Please be aware that some of these items are only suitable for those aged 18+.
I love a good piece of cheddar and Steve and our Dads are the same too – thus something like the organic cheddar and fruit cake combo from the lovely people over at Godminster would definitely go down really well. (£26)
Neither myself or Steve are big Brie fans but both our Dads are – in fact, I would go so far as to say they are cheese fiends. If cheddar isn’t your bag, perhaps the organic Brie selection may be more your style. (£18.50)
Does your Dad like to sup a beer from time to time? I have a number of suggestions that may whet his whistle – from the fantastic Dad’s Beer – Tempting Treat from Beerhawk which is a bargain at £10 to the Delicious Fine Art Ale from The National Gallery for just £3.95 – feel sophisticated and enjoy a good ale! If your Dad or partner likes a slightly different taste, ESTRELLA Damm Spanish Lager may be more up their street with a fun and vibrant flavour. Available in most major supermarkets or on Amazon.
Kirin Ichiban is another alternative for whoever you buy for – this Japanese beer is one of the most expensively brewed premium beers, brewed in a different way to most others with a sweet flavour. This is available at Tesco and Ocado and costs just £1.49 a bottle!
If beer is your Dad’s thing, why not go all out and treat him to a large selection box of them – beers instead of chocolates. This Little Beery Gift from Beerhawk contains 10 bottles of beers and ales from across the globe and costs just £25 – I know my father in law would really love this!
With Fathers Day falling in the middle of summer, a fab present would have to be this Barbecook Major Charcoal Barbecue in three new colours for 2014 – Major Chili, Kiwi and Lagoon for £159.99 or the simple black for £129.99. Ready to grill on in 15 minutes and no firelighters or lighter fluid needed? Sounds pretty perfect to me. Or how about a fantastic sweet hamper such as this Retro Sweet Hamper?
If you are planning a getaway this summer with your partner or parents, why not invest in a Bodum Picnic BBQ for just £29.99. Portable and perfect to use anywhere without taking up too much space.
If you hadn’t guessed already, food and drink is a big part of our lives (hence why half my clothes don’t fit me anymore..oops!) and so when offered the chance to try this fab hamper from Patchwork Pate, we couldn’t resist. This is a perfect gift for a foodie – so if you know your Dad or partners tastebuds well, make sure to check this out – you can choose every aspect of the items – the type of pate, type of chutney, flavour of the oat fingers and even the beer. Definitely a gift with a difference.
I make no secret of the fact Steve is the main cook in our house, unlike in both our parents houses. These Heston Blumenthal Precision Dual Platform Precision Scales (£49.99, available in John Lewis) went down really well when they arrived as Steve is always eager to try new gadgets out in the kitchen. The first of its kind, weighing from 0.1kg to 10kg, this product is very impressive and will definitely be used for a long time.
A rather random foodie gift but something I am sure most Dads would appreciate is something from the Santa Maria range available at Tesco. You may know Santa Maria better as Discovery Foods which means you may also know they offer a wide range of fab products including (but not only) this Tellicherry Black Pepper from the Extra Fine selection of spice grinders. Steve literally COVERS his food in pepper so this would be an ideal gift for him from Jack.
Talking about ideal gifts for Steve, what is your Dad or partners favourite chocolate? Steve’s is Toblerone and I know he would appreciate a branded Fathers Day Toblerone for just £4.99 – making me hungry just thinking about it!
If you want to splurge a little on that special person, perhaps consider some Godiva truffles. I have long been wanting to see what all the fuss is about and let me tell you – the fuss is well justified!
If beer, chocolates and kitchen tools aren’t his things, perhaps you can tempt him with some spirits. Perhaps the Auchentoshan Three Wood or 12 Year Old may be a good pick – I know my father in law is truly going to appreciate these! If they aren’t so much a whisky drinker, how about some vodka? I am usually a Smirnoff drinker through and through but this Beluga Noble Vodka definitely matches up to it and more – this is Russia’s best selling super premium vodka and I can certainly see why – might be worth gifting your Dad a little tipple this Fathers Day.

I always think foodie gifts are fab! I like it when you can give presents that can be used and enjoyed, rather than sitting on a shelf forevermore!
