Since I never finished my 25 before 25 series and I am now 25, I thought I’d create a 30 before 30 post instead – and keep it to one post instead!
What do I want to achieve before I’m 30? Quite a lot actually. Some might also have been stolen from my very ambitious 25 before 25 too! I do have just under 5 years to complete them though so here we go:
1. Finish writing my novel and hopefully get it published. If not, I plan on self publishing.
2. Hopefully have another child or two. Will have to rely on nature for this one!
3. Finish reading through my entire Agatha Christie collection. I have had some for almost 13 years, oops.
4. Finally get round to meeting Sarah. It will happen, people!
5. Buy a house. This means a lot of work and a lot of saving.
6. Completely clear any debt we have. Except for the mortgage if we buy a house.
7. Finish re reading all of the Point Horror books.
8. Get married. Because, you know, we’ve been engaged a while now.
9. Visit Greenway, Agatha Christie’s home in Devon.
10. Make plans to go on the Orient Express. Perhaps this could tie in with a wedding, it would be a lovely honeymoon!
11. Visit Highgate Cemetery. It really intrigues me.
12. Watch our complete DVD collection. We’ve got lots of DVD’s and quite a few haven’t yet been watched…
13. Watch Dexter from beginning to end. I never watched it all the way through but I really want to.
14. Finally finish watching Desperate Housewives all of the way through. I’m currently stuck in the middle of season 2.
15. Actually do something with my Youtube channel. I’ve made 3 videos so far but still not quite brave enough to be on camera.
16. Visit the Harry Potter studios. I have no excuse, it isn’t as if they are that far from where I live.
17. Go and see The Mousetrap, a play by Agatha Christie.
18. Go to a book festival. Because I love all the books.
19. See Derren Brown.
20. Ride in a hot air balloon.
21. Watch every single film on a top 100 list – probably IMDB’s.
22. See the Northern Lights. I want to travel more, much more. Not just to the Northern Lights but plenty of other tourist destinations – I may even take advantage of the Bali tour packages if we visit there.
23. Go for afternoon tea with my Mum or best friend (or both!)
24. Write an article for a magazine or newspaper
25. Host a dinner party
26. Attend at least 5 gigs.
27. Visit the British Library
28. Start looking into my family tree again
29. Go to see a musical in the West End
30. Learn something new. Whether it is a new language or how to sew.. just something new.
I will be updating this list as and when I achieve something. I won’t be creating monthly or even bi-monthly posts to tell you what I’ve achieved as I may not have achieved any in a set period of time. Instead, I will write a blog post for each one should it happen.
Have you ever written a list like this? Did you manage to complete it?

Good luck with your bucket list. There are some really cool things on there.
Yaaay I love number 8! When you decide to tie the knot don’t forget to check out http://www.lifeinthenorth.com 😉
Lots to do there! The Orient Express was on my list too and it was my 40th birthday treat so I’m glad to have done that! I hope you get some of your biggies ticked off!
This is a great post! I’m totally inspired, I’m with you on the buying a house thing… I may sell a limb
Lots to do, but am absolutely sure that most of them will happen (start those Agatha Christie books now!) and book the Mousetrap and afternoon tea in London for the same day….(and the British Library too!). Good luck.
I kept meaning to do this but at 29 and a half and six months pregnant I don’t think I have a lot of time for anything too exciting! 😉 x
Ohh a novel “wow” would be so good. Can do the gogs as go to lots love them.
What a great list – so many amazing things on there – I hope you achieve them all =) I can’t wait to read posts about each of the items as you do them.
I am 30 in November and I have had no list of what I want to do – maybe I should take inspiration from you and do a 40 before I am 40 list (do I even want to think about being 40??)
I could just hug you! For a good couple of years I have been trying to remember what the collection of books were called that I used to read as a teen! Point Horror!!!
What a great list! Wishing you the best of luck x
I’ve tried to learn to sew three times now – still can’t make a top lol. I want to see the Northern lights, you can see them from Scotland but I want to go to Iceland to see them
Some great goals there! I really need to write my 40 before I’m 40 list. I must do it today, thanks for the push in the right direction x
That’s quite a list! Good luck 🙂
I have a list of things I want to do but I have missed out on a 40 before 40 – maybe I will have to do a 50 before 50 #eek
Fab list. Hopefully you will manage them all this time! I have never done anything like this before
Highgate cemetary is fabulous I love going there and I also want to see The Northern Lights x
This is an amazing list, I turn 23 this year, maybe I’ll write a 25 before 25!
Aawww you are so young! I need to do my list for before I am 45 next summer! Great list – good luck. Kaz x
Afternoon tea is something i would love to do, .. somewhere posh, .. but then I’d need something to wear that isn’t jeans!
Good luck with your list, I hope you manage to do everything in it. I’ve never written a list like this, but maybe I should,
what a great list~ good luck with it all
Good luck with that.
Fab list. Mousetrap and Derren Brown are a must. Both are awesome!
These lists are such a good idea. It’s so easy just to let the years drift by with ‘what if’s’. The only time some people stop to think about things they want to achieve is when they retire!
Goood luckkkkk looking forward to number 4 😛
Liking the list. I should get around to reading/rereading all the Agatha Christie books. Maybe I’ll make that a project for me.
Great list of things to do before you’re 30, here’s to getting the majority! I have a bucket list but it keeps getting longer and longer. Definitely want to see the Northern Lights 🙂
aww hope its going well, such a great bucket list here.
Wow what a fantastic idea! I love your list and your a fellow Agatha Christie fan too 🙂

I’d love to see the Northern Lights and go to a book festival.
Great bucket list!! I tried to see the northern lights before I turned 30, flew to Finland and the damn lights didn’t come out at all during our stay because it was too cludy- sods law! hahah it’s on my ‘things to do before 35’ list in my head instead lol x
I love this list! Although you made me feel old! Gosh I am 32 this year so I should start 35 post style ;p I love how you include Sarah in you wishlist that cute! Good luck with all!
Wow!
I’m loving the list. I’ve written so many lists, they just get longer and longer……..and reading blogs makes it even longer hahaha
Desperate housewives is a must !
No rush in getting married……save for your house first! But, Pls do finish your novel. That’s one thing I always wanted to do. Although a book on short stories is more my thing, or children’s books. I have so many ideas, and no ideas how to fulfil them.
Let us know how you get on!
You must watch Dexter. I was hooked from start to finish! Ending wasn’t that great though to be honest. Good luck with the hopeful kids wedding and honeymoon! Starting laying lots of hints!
I love this post and like you I’m a bit Agatha Christie fan – desperate to go to Burgh Island … I just need a sugar daddy.
I didn’t realise you were a fellow Agatha Christie fan! I now need to read back through all of your old blog posts to find out more about you (that sounds a bit weird doesn’t it)
Lits to achieve, good luck completing it. I contemplated a 40 before 40 but it’s a little close to achieve now so am going to tweak the style of list slightly to achieve things I would like to before then.
Wow! What a list I look forward to seeing you achieve it all. I should really do a 40 before I’m 40 as 35 is to damn close for my liking!
This is great. I need to do a 25 before 25…although I have less than 6 months! x
What a great list! I know you will achieve all of these things lovely and more! x
Inspirational list, I think I might just steal a few of those ideas for myself.
Love these lists, and this one is great. Giving yourself a nice amount of time. Stay focussed and you can get it all done x
I can help you with no 22! Come and visit me in Shetland for northern lights 🙂
What a great list and I’m certain you will cross them off in the 5 years! Good luck 🙂 P.s Derren Brown is on tour in April! xx
i used to LOVE the point horror books when i was a teen. my fave was baa baa dead sheep!!
A ride in a hot air balloon is firmly on my bucket list too!
I love lists like this, I really should make one, I think it would inspire me to actually do all the things I want to do.
What a great list, I always meant to do one at 30 and then 40, but that’s in six months time, so maybe I should do one for when i’m 50! Good luck with achieving them all, I look forward to reading about each one as it happens x
Great list! I wish I had done this before my 30th! I hope you manage to do lots of them!
I don’t really do lists, I’m too disorganised… but I’d very much like to see the northern lights.
