If you read my other post from today, you will see it is all about saving money which I have mentioned plenty of times in the past few weeks, whether in the WPW series or not. It all applies as without saving money, I won’t be able to have a wedding at all!
I have mentioned before that I will be making as much stuff as I possibly can when it comes to my wedding and also enlisting help of friends and family members who have skills I can utilise. I have mentioned that I don’t want to spend thousands of pounds on the perfect dress when I am sure I can find one for a few hundred.
Thing is, I am getting so stressed trying to sort everything out by myself. Whilst the money isn’t there yet, I can still try to set out a budget for what we want – however, being a work at home mum means I struggle to find time to sit down and actually wedding plan in between working and looking after Jack. With Steve always working random shifts as well, it is just as hard to pin him down to bounce a few ideas off him! I do have a very lovely friend who is going to be coming round every now and again and helping me out, however I can’t help but feel a little stressed out at everything.
I know wedding planning is meant to be stressful but the way we’re going, I don’t even know when this wedding will be taking place…

Good luck, Bex!
Thanks Jenny x
Weddings like this, where friends and family and the bride do everything, are often the best. My friend made some pale pink organza bags and put pink, white and silver confetti in them (the edible kind!). Another friend got a basket and put rose petals in it to scatter over us.
Aww, what beautiful ideas x
If it helps I'm finding the whole wedding organising process a lot less stressful since I stopped worrying about it. May I recommend sitting down and working out what is important to you and what isn't. We fell into that trap of doing what we thought we should, so having this day that wasn't anything like what we wanted and then it was like a flash of blinding light, we just thought why the hell are we doing this, when we sat down with the figures and then we changed everything. Since then I've been so much less stressed. Sit down, talk about the important things, no-one notices the favours, most people forget about the centrepieces focus on what's important to you and don't get caught up in the 'well you should pay this because you only do it once and it's the most important day of your life' mentality, because plenty of wedding purveyors will spout that at you. Ignore it and just do what makes you happy.
Plan your ceremony, put effort into your photographer and your surroundings because those are the things you'll remember!

Thanks Dawn, I just need to pin Steve down for 5 minutes now!x
Hey there! I just wanted to say thanks for the follow back on Pinterest! I really appreciate it! I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday :o)
No problem x
As above, I think it's best not to over think it.
For us the major things are paid by my late parents money that was left. (this being venue and photographer) A godparent is doing my flowers, with another paying for them. Everything else is to be saved for and paid for when we have the money. Ebay and Amazon have been good to me so far! 🙂
I basically wrote a list of EVERYTHING that we would need and sent emails galore to people and companies about costs of everything and wrote this down too. From this I then started buying the small bits at our monthly payday and after is a case of save for a couple months to buy the next and so and on..
We haven't actually BOOKED our date yet.. hopefully by end of this month and it'll hopefully be next December (2014). This will help with decorative details as the venue will be already decorated and centre pieces on tables etc (as we're having reception/meal in a restaurant), so saving on costs there. 🙂
