This week has been a weird one in the world of wedding planning for me. Whilst I haven’t done much in the way of actually planning anything this week, I have had a good old think about what kind of things I want and what kind of budget I will need for these. I have also been thinking about ways to increase my savings going forward which I shall be including in a future post.
Obviously people get married all the time but until recently I only knew of myself and Zoe aka Mammaful Zo who are in the early stages of planning our wedding. It can get a bit lonely sometimes, here in the world of wedding planning so I was happy to finally make the #weddinghour chat on Twitter last week where I found some other fantastic bloggers who are documenting the lead up to their weddings. One blogger in particular, Helen, has even started a new hashtag chat for us all – I was left feeling so inspired after the chat on Monday (9-10pm every week, if you’re interested) that even in a week where nothing has been planned, I have so many ideas of what I want to do!
After being on hiatus for a few weeks, I was unsure whether I’d get the motivation and inspiration back to continue these posts but knowing there are other bloggers out there to bounce ideas off is fantastic! Some things I wanted but thought were silly or too expensive, I was all to ready to cross off the list. However, chatting to like minded brides made me realise that I should do what makes me happy. If I don’t feel comfortable paying out fortunes for that gorgeous dress and can find a much cheaper, just as beautiful alternative then why not save that money and put it towards something I really want such as a videographer?
Basically what I’m saying is Wedding Planning Wednesday is back with a bang and I’m feeling motivated not only to carry on with this series but to go out and get what I want. After all, its my special day.
Check out the #wbloggers hashtag here for a constant stream of wedding posts.

I checked out a wedding venue this weekend and it was not nearly as nice as I imagined in my head, so back to the drawing board. I think I'll check out the hashtags for inspiration!
They really are inspiring x
I advise getting sale-rail designer gowns rather than going to places that make them cheaply. Chris' sister got one made for £500 cheaper than one shed seen in the shop and it started to fall apart ON THE DAY!
Also videographer and photographer are the most important things. We dont have a videographer but do have Chris' brother in law filming the whole ceremony and a couple of people filming the evening.
I think a civil ceremony being only 10-20 mins long its not AS important to get it professionally as a church service but you will want something to watch!!
Brilliant idea x
I'm so glad you're back fully motivated!
For your dress try getting an ex-display one. Mine cost me £100, I had to get it cleaned as it was a bit dusty but it was a huge saving. It may be worth going to Wedding Fayres as a lot of shops sell their display dresses off at them.
Also, check for a photographer that does a package with a videographer, our video only ended up costing us something like £200 as it was an add on with the photographer. x
Thanks Leanne x
Im not having a wedding video, I am getting married in 2 years and I have a camera shy fiancé lol! However I do have friends who work in media, so they'll make sure I have a proper wedding video 🙂
Planning a wedding is soo stressful though lol! I never thought there were sooo many things that needed to be taken care of for one, all be it amazing, day!

So many things to do!
I hope you can plan a gorgeous wedding
Thank you x
Glad to see you back motivated.
I found the #bridehour chat this week.. I'll prob just browse and watch the chat, as as much as I'm liking planning/organising my wedding, I want to keep it individual. (no copying. :p)
our wedding is a small 'do', plus with the time of year we're having it helps with not having to think about certain things. 🙂
