On Monday, I am disappearing for five days and toddling off to Bluestone with Steve and Jack along with some other bloggers – it looks like it is going to be loads of fun! Whilst thinking about what I was going to pack for us all, myself and Helen got chatting about the long car journey and our stay and decided we needed some things to amuse our boys on the way down and in the lodge. Thus the toddler travel kit was born..

I picked up the toothbrush timer this week as an incentive to keep Jack interested in brushing his teeth – he won’t let us do it but gets bored very easily so I am hoping this will keep him occupied whilst brushing and what better time to start using it than on holiday? Jack has had numerous sketchers but he has broken them all so I didn’t want to spend much on one this time around and this one was cheap as chips.
He has a real obsession with cars and trains at the moment so the 8 piece set and the giant play mat were perfect additions to the toddler travel kit – he will have hours of fun with these and I got them for a snip of the price too! Another obsession is dinosaurs so the bag of dinos and the activity book were a must!
Bouncy balls and the blocks were a last minute addition – these were so cheap that if he loses one, it won’t really matter – they are simply there for his amusement whilst we are away!
I also picked up a Compact First Aid Kit as I realised I have barely got anything in the house to take away with us – how bad is that? This comes with the bare essentials but for £1.89 and free delivery, I could hardly go wrong!
I’ve pretty much packed away what Jack is taking – now I need to spend time sorting out mine and Steve’s! This may take a while..

We've done loads of long journeys with our twins – top travel toys were always the homemade money box (with pound shop gold coins to post in & out), a magnetic sketcher, and their own little personal notebook with a multi-colour biro & pack of stickers. 🙂

Bought my 2 year-old niece a huge building blocks set (Duplo knock-off) for under £10. Over the years she has been a Queen in her castle, travelled the globe, vanquished dragons, been an international secret agent etc. Best prezzy ever!
The toddler travel cat will definitely keep you sane!
