With Jack going to nursery very soon and also spending many more days out with family away from us, I’ve almost perfected ‘the perfect lunchbox’. I have plenty of lunchbox ideas but Jack generally knows what he wants – a specific type of sandwich (dependent on what he ‘currently likes’), a packet of crisps, a yogurt, some fruit and his favourite of all, Capri-Sun. He loves a tasty juice drink and will often guzzle them down in one go!
Having popped to Tesco to do my weekly food shop, I thought it would be a great time to tie in this #CollectiveBias campaign. Capri Sun is perfect for lunchboxes and days out and is a favourite amongst Jack and all of his friends – we like to keep our kitchen fully stocked at all times. They come in a variety of flavours: Orange, Blackcurrant, Summer Berries, Apple, Tropical, Apple & Cherry, Mango and Safari so children can take their pick!
I used to love my lunchboxes as a child. Now, of course, they tend to be a lot healthier but it was always a nice surprise to see what was inside. In my household, Jack tends to stick to a tried and tested routine, only switching out the sandwich filling or fruit once in a while. He may occasionally have pasta too. Given a choice of drink, Jack will always opt for juice – this #CapriSunSchool campaign is perfect for him. It’s also perfect for me as it has no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
For now, we are opting for healthy lunchboxes – healthy sandwiches, juice, yogurts, fruit and occasionally a small packet of crisps. It is tried and tested, it is simple and it is effective – its what works for us.
What type of lunch boxes do you prepare for your children?
