My Pregnancy Diaries | Week 15

I thought I had better start my pregnancy diaries in place of the weight loss diary I usually write. I will still be attending Slimming World during and after pregnancy but since weight loss doesn’t really go hand in hand with pregnancy, I will be replacing it with a pregnancy diary each week – I will let you know how I get on at weigh in each week within my pregnancy diary.

First things first, my picture is my bump from when I was having Jack – much further along in that pregnancy than this too! I haven’t really got a bump to speak of yet but will be updating the picture as and when I can. The colours of the fonts are there until 20 weeks when we hopefully find out what gender our baby is – exciting times! So this is week 15 of my pregnancy but week 1 of my pregnancy diaries – so how have I been?

If I am being honest, it has really been a struggle this week. With Jack, the most I had throughout the whole pregnancy  was some stretchmarks, a little bit of heartburn and some Braxton Hicks. With the baby I sadly miscarried back in December at 11 weeks in a missed miscarriage, I had no symptoms. This time around however, I really am going through the motions. Morning sickness is taking me down and whilst it isn’t every day, when I do get it I am wiped out. I’ve been suffering loads over the last 15 weeks and this weekend was the absolute worst. I couldn’t eat – I couldn’t even drink water half the time – for the whole weekend. I managed two bites of a dry piece of toast all weekend, sucked on some ice cubes to get some fluid in me and finally managed to keep some Lucozade Sport down at around 7pm on Sunday night.

I still haven’t had any cravings – which I never had with Jack anyway- but I have been feeling increasingly uncomfortable over the past few weeks as I get bigger. My next midwife appointment is in a couple of weeks time and my 20 week scan is on the 1st of September – I am so excited!

I am hoping that now I have hit week 15 my sickness will start to abate but I’m not holding out hope – pretty much everyone I know who has suffered from it in the past themselves suffered throughout. I was so ill this weekend that I lost 4lbs at weigh in and got joint slimmer of the week, my 1.5 stone, went into a new stone number and decreased my BMI by 1 whole point. If I wasn’t pregnant, that would be an astounding loss but I’m a little worried at such a big loss when pregnant but I know it couldn’t be helped as I physically couldn’t eat a thing.

I’m hoping this next week will be quite easy on me but we shall see what it brings… fingers crossed!
