My living room is completely male oriented and dominated. Despite me being home all day working and tidying up after everyone, every other moment I come across another jumper dumped there, a shoe there, a toy there. It is as if the gremlins come out and mess everything up as soon as I leave the room. With all the gadgets and boys toys taking over my room, I’m longing to give it a feminine touch to make it a place I am happy to spend time in. After all, there’s only so much Lego or Playstation stuff you can put up with.
I’ve compiled a list of a few items that I think would really give my living room the boost it needs to become a little feminine again.
I’ve picked a couple of items that I feel are super sleek and stylish and others for cosiness or other reasons.
My first choice would be this awesome cushion – I would love nothing more than to explore if I had the money to. It would be amazing but this cushion will have to do for now. It will look great in my living room, making my rather drab sofa look a lot better.
For aesthetic purposes, I chose the vase and votives in similar decor – I love matte black style decor and these would look great. I also chose the perfume bottle as yes, I am one of those people who loves beautiful old perfume bottles – they can be some of the prettiest things to look at!
Wall art is a big love of mine and usually I choose a picture of my family or a picture we have taken – see example 1 and example 2 of wall art I have round my home that I’ve posted about. However, I do love a good piece of scenery so the sunset picture would be perfect on our wall – although being a Hertfordshire lass means I am drawn towards the Hertford piece too!
Finally, I opted for the Royal Doulton Rebecca figurine – any clues to why I picked her in particular? She would obviously be kept away from little toddler hands but she would take pride of place in my display cabinet and make a worthy addition to my living room.
