Keeping Warm This Winter

Keeping warm in the winter is a priority for me.

However I am very much one of those people who refuses to put their heating on until the very last moment as I want to ensure that I don’t get hit with a massive energy bill once spring rolls around – it has happened to me before and I don’t want it to happen to me again! Keeping warm when its so cold outside seems like a double edged sword nowadays.

Working from home means it is quite difficult to keep our heating off though and I eventually caved a couple of weeks ago when woolly jumpers just wouldn’t do anymore. In order to keep warm but not fork out a ton of money each year, I have been considering speaking to our landlord about getting an electric radiator installed instead – they are energy efficient (saving up to 50% off your energy bill each year), generally have long life batteries and a safety cut out measure. They would be much better for my house than the radiators we have now.

he house I live in now has been here for quite a while now and so have the radiators – in fact, I don’t think much has changed in the house at all since it was built. It isn’t the most insulating of houses and I am sure I am always losing heat. I’ve tried a number of different things to be energy efficient whilst keeping warm these past few weeks but I just don’t think what I am doing is cutting it. It is so difficult when living in old houses to do these things! Do you have any tips for keeping warm in the winter whilst trying to save money and be energy efficient also?
