How Well Do Babies See?

As someone who has worn glasses for over half her life now, vision is something I am hot on when it comes to my family. I like to ensure we are all having regular eye tests and noticing any problems as soon as I can when they arise.  I remember panicking when Jack was a lot younger wondering if everything was working properly and if he was developing as he should.

Vision Direct have recently released a new digital tool to help parents learn about their babies sight. I wish I had this when Jack was younger. Developed by opticians, the tool has a simple sliding scale to show the developmental stages of a baby’s eyesight and all you need to do is input your child’s age and you are given an idea of what their field of vision, depth perception and colour awareness may be like. As the slider moves, colours and objects become sharper, just like as the child grows.

Vision Direct hopes parents can refer to this tool as their baby grows and use this resource to encourage healthy development. As well as being the leading online retailer of contact lenses in Europe, Vision Direct is committed to being a leading resource for eye health and information.

Is this a tool that would have been helpful to you in the first few months of your babies life? It certainly would have been for me!
