Saving Money

How To Save Money When Visiting London This Easter

Collaborative Post

London is a place that the kids have wanted to visit for quite some time now. With the Easter holidays coming up, we have been thinking about what we can do to keep the kids entertained and London has definitely been suggested.

With the price of everything rising, we have been thinking about how we can save money when visiting London, touring the capital whilst sticking to a budget.

Utilise Discounts And Vouchers

I don’t know about you but I am always on the lookout for discounts and vouchers. One big expense I find we have when out and about is food so I will be looking at what lunch deals london has to offer, thanks to my tastecard. It offers discounts on dining (but also cinema and attractions too!)

It is so important to me to save money on food where I can as eating out can be so expensive and I find that being in the capital, prices are definitely marked up!

Find Free Stuff To Do

Whilst there is plenty to do in the capital city on a small budget, there is also plenty of free stuff to do too! Why wouldn’t you want to check some free attractions out?

Many of the museums are free and are definite must sees. A visit to London wouldn’t be complete with a trip to one of the fabulous London museums such as the British museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum or the Natural History museum. There’s so much history and culture to check out in these buildings and they are a great attraction for the whole family.

If your family are Harry Potter fans, make sure that you pop into King’s Cross station to check out the wall marked Platform 9 ¾!

Book In Advance

If you have an idea of what you are going to be doing and where you are going, then booking in advance can be very beneficial. You can often get small discounts by booking in advance or simply just ensure you get a space as some things get booked up quite quickly and you don’t want to face disappointment on the day.

Act Like A Tourist

Technically if you live outside the capital, you probably are a tourist. However if you are looking for a budget friendly day or weekend trip in London, act like a tourist from another country.

Visit all the landmarks – you can probably do this for free or very cheap on the Tube or bus route. If you were from another country, what landmarks would you most like to see? Buckingham Palace, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament are obvious but how about the beautiful Kew Gardens or Hampton Court Palace?

If you find that certain landmarks do require an entry fee, then you can probably bundle your entry fees for a few different places, just make sure to do your research!

I cannot wait for the Easter holidays. With the February half term, Hannah had only just been born so we didn’t get to do much with the older two. However now Hannah is almost two months old, we feel a little more equipped to get out and about and have some fun and London happens to be calling our name.

What have you got planned for Easter?
