Holiday Envy

In collaboration with Thomson

It seems like everyone in my life is going on holiday right now, some just down to the coast and some across the other side of the world. With Steve’s shift patterns, finding time to even get more than three days off in a row is a struggle so holidays have had to take even more of a back seat than before.

We’ve been to Bluestone in Wales this year but the weather wasn’t great and now that the summer has all but disappeared for us all, I am craving that little bit of sunshine. Much as I love holidaying in the UK, sometimes you just need to get out of the country for a few days to properly relax.

Picture of the amazing weather on our last overseas holiday

When we went to Rome, the weather was glorious. We have been looking into the cost of flights to Orlando as it is a place we have always wanted to visit and somewhere we have seen plenty of friends visiting so the urge to visit soon has increased! There is so much there for both young and old to do: visit theme parks – including Disneyland, of course –  relaxing on the most beautiful sandy beaches, discover national parks, Florida is definitely on our bucket list of places to visit.

I’ve even considered asking Steve if we can have our honeymoon there – we’ve had plenty of chats about whether our honeymoon would be just us and Jack stays with grandparents or if it will be akin to a family holiday. If we go for the latter, then this would be perfect – somewhere we both want to visit and somewhere our children will enjoy.

For now though, I will just pore over everyone else’s pictures of their amazing holidays and wish it was me. I will get there one day though. I will.
