In collaboration with Bidvine
Have you ever looked for a local service and realised you can’t quite find what you are looking for? Whether someone hasn’t got quite the right experience or is a little out of your price range, it can be so frustrating to have to keep searching through hundreds of local services and call up for quotes to no avail. Wouldn’t it be easier if there was a site that took care of all that for you? A site such as Bidvine perhaps?
Bidvine is a London-based local services tech startup, connecting customerswith the right service provider… you could say it is like Tinder but for local services! I recently submitted a request for a photographer in my area – I’ve been needing some portfolio headshots for a while so I thought I’d better check the local businesses out and see what they had to offer me in terms of price, location and experience.
The request submission process was super simple. I put in what I was looking for – that I was looking for professional portfolio headshots, taken as recommended by the photographer. I needed 3-5 different shots and didn’t need my hair and makeup doing. I wanted to receive the final images on removable media, had a budget between £50 and £100 with a flexible timeframe on the basis that the photographer travelled to me in St Albans.
Whilst I opted to send a photography request, there are plenty of other services available on Bidvine. You can hire someone for domestic cleaning (definitely considering this!), interior painting, party planning, bodyguard services and so many other services. You name it, you can probably find someone for it. There’s even something for us bloggers if we get writer’s block – you can hire someone to write blog posts for you!
As I mentioned I requested photography services as it is something I have needed for a while. However there are plenty of others I would and could also have opted for.
I found the whole experience very interesting. I received five pitches from relevant photographers – all fit within my budget, location and other requirements. Of course, it does take a little time to work out who exactly is the most relevant for the service you need – the cheapest may have the least experience or offer the least amount of images so its worth checking out each request fully before making a decision.
The quotes as mentioned above were all relevant and what I loved most was that they were tailored towards me. As the photographers had to take notice of my requirements, their introductions were all written in regards to what I needed and I wasn’t treated to some copy and paste spiel like you expect some providers of services to use. Each professional was of great quality and I found it hard to choose who would be the right person for the job – it took some deliberating!
The website is so functional and easy to use that it made not only requesting the services but actually seeing the responses afterwards super easy. I was able to access each individual quote separately and weigh up the pros and cons of each. The fantastic dashboard enables you to see your current requests, any responses you may have received and also enables you to start up a new request if you need to.
I would recommend this to all those living in or around the London area – I know some of the counties around London are able to make use of the site – myself in Hertfordshire included – and it will definitely become my first port of call in the case of looking for particular services. I will also be recommending the site to any bloggers who live nearby as there are some really helpful services available on the site – professional photography, product photography, web design and so many more – that could make our lives so much easier. This site could easily become a blogger’s best friend.
Have you ever tried Bidvine? What service would you opt for?

This is such a good little app, a friend of mine has used it so many times since I told her about it for a local photographer and an electrician!
I like the concept of Bidvine. We have a similar app here in the Philippines. It is called HeyKuya which is like your personal assistant. It is great that these kind of apps are available now. It is very time-consuming to make your own research for a particular service that you want to get. With these kind of apps, you will immediately get the options based on what you need only.
I like services like this, makes things a lot more easier – I wonder if it’ll spread to Bedfordshire! x
gosh what a great idea i will definitely be checking it out k x
I’ve recently tried out this app! It’s fantastic!
This is great but hope they’ll expand to other areas too. Living in rural suffolk, it’s hard to find services (Esp mobile hairdressers!)
This sounds like such a great service, especially for people with busy lifestyles.
This looks like a fantastic idea, I love how easy it is to use. I would definitely use it if they had services up in Scotland. x
