Fashion Loves Art

Guest post by Catherine Lavinia

All the Nashville Photographers, all the painters and art lovers from all around the world, would give everything to take a look at the $ 58.4 million Jeff Koon’s dog. Thanks to the huge retailer H & M, the dog can now be yours only for $ 49.50. Isn’t this awesome?
That’s some really good news for the fans of the contemporary art and of the brand. Also, besides the creation of the bag, the legendary American artist will come with a new design of the brand’s flagship store, which may become a real art gallery.

H&M is preparing to open its largest store in the world at the intersection of the Fifth Avenue and the 48th Street in New York, which may be a real art museum. The company said that the store design will resemble an art gallery, which is not surprising – in the interior we’ll see “inflatable” sculptures created by Jeff Koon.
The opening of the renovated store is scheduled for the 17th of July, which matches with the beginning of the retrospective exhibition of Koon’s works in New York that will be held from July 27 to October 19 at the Whitney Museum of American Art, sponsored by H&M.
The H&M bag will be limited edition. On July 17 it will be available in a few American stores and on the online-platform of the brand. The artist commented on the work of the famous brand saying that the collaboration with H&M was very interesting for him. This is a great chance to show one of his most popular works to the new generation of people.

The largest Swedish retailer Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) is well known for its huge collaborations with the best international brands and fashion houses (Comme des Garçons, Versace, Lanvin, Viktor & Rolf, etc.), designers and stars (Karl Lagerfeld, Roberto Cavalli, Sonia Rykiel, Kylie Minogue, Madonna, etc.). But the latest H&M collaboration is truly unique: it is the first time the company is cooperating with an artist and is supporting the contemporary art exhibition. As we see, fashion loves art and that’s what H&M is teaching us with its new collaboration.
