I love a good song and like any nineties child, I absolutely adore nineties music. Luckily my friends do too and one is even having a nineties themed birthday party in a couple of months. Have you ever stopped to consider the top era defining songs from the decade you were born in? SunLifeDirect have created a fantastic little jukebox which contains five era defining songs from each the fifties until now. Not only is there a list for each decade but you can even play their video!
It got me to thinking though. What songs would you choose for each decade? I know that I would choose Spice Girls and Take That for the nineties – after all they were the biggest UK girl band and boy band during that time! I was right too as they’ve been included. But with so many talented artists out there, it would be hard to whittle down the best ones for each decade from the fifties.
Obviously icons like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, David Bowie and Michael Jackson would be included but what songs would you say defined the decades for you? Do you agree with these ‘era defining songs’? What is your favourite song?
