We’re finally experiencing some great summer weather, so it’s natural to want to spend time outside and enjoy your garden. But if your garden is looking a little more unkempt than inviting, then those dreams of evenings and weekends spent enjoying the sun can soon disappear. It’s true that creating a great garden takes work, but if you opt for something a bit simpler, you could turn your garden around in no time!
Clear out all of the clutter
A cluttered garden makes your space look messy, and can make it difficult to want to spend time in it. While you might have been putting it off for a while, now is the time to declutter your garden and keep it clutter-free once and for all. Start by removing all of the debris and rubbish, and get rid of any items that are looking worn or broken. Many hands will make light work so get all of the family involved to help create a blank canvas in your garden.
Lay an artificial lawn
Mowing the lawn can feel like an endless chore during the summer months – it can be easy to let it overgrow and become scruffy looking. So why not opt for a LazyLawn instead? Artificial grass is easy to maintain and it’s ideal for the kids to play on. More and more people are choosing artificial grass as it’s an easy way to keep your grass looking green and neat all year round.
As you’ll be saving time by not having to cut the grass, why not use that time to focus on maintaining your patio by regularly jet washing and cleaning it?

Keep an eye out for affordable furniture
There are plenty of beautiful garden furniture pieces out there at the moment that will create a contemporary and stylish look for your outdoor space. If you take a look at this year’s garden trends, you’ll see that there are some fantastic styles that will look great in your garden. New garden furniture doesn’t have to cost the earth – places like Argos and B&Q regularly have garden sales on, while Amazon, eBay and Groupon can also help you find amazing furniture styles at a bargain price.
Add some plants that are easy to maintain
Your garden can feel bare without anything in it, but if you’re not great at gardening, there are some easy ways to add some colour and life. Why not try buying some plants that are easy to maintain, or are already potted? Plants that are evergreen and require little maintenance will brighten up your garden in no time, while items like shade trees can create a bit of interest. Head down to your nearest garden centre and see what’s available – you could find some great bargains while you’re there!
Creating a simple garden space is easier and more affordable than you might think. Get a plan in place to transform your garden and look forward to spending your summer weekends relaxing and soaking up that glorious sun!
