Advent 2018 Day 1 – Lily Charmed

Can you believe we are in the throes of advent competitions once more? If you thought myself and Sarah wouldn’t be running ours, no need to worry – we’re back again! We’ll be posting our advent comps on the working days of the week, taking a break at weekends. I’m happy to say we are starting our 2018 advent competitions with a fantastic prize from an amazing brand, Lily Charmed. You may have seen them feature quite regularly over on Sarah’s blog and they have been mentioned occasionally both on here and UK Lifestyle Hub too.

I can’t quite believe it is December already. That means a busy busy month for me – Jack is seven tomorrow, can you believe that? Celebrations all round I think – and what better way to celebrate his birthday month and the festive season than some fantastic competitions?

So what have we got for you today? Some beautiful necklaces from Lily Charmed.  But first, let’s find out a little more about the company..

Lily Charmed

If you have heard of Lily Charmed before I have to ask; have you been over to their website of late? Because if so you may have noticed they have had a makeover and doesn’t their website look absolutely amazing!

Streamlined, sleek and easy to navigate is the order of the day, I have to say!

For those of you who are new to Lily Charmed, let me tell you a little about them.

They are at the heart, a family business. Set up by Lucy Lee at her kitchen table, right here in the UK. She now works alongside her husband Johnathan, sister Jessica and cousins; Becky, Poppy and Emma.

They pride themselves on their quirky designs, which are completely different to ones you will find elsewhere.

I mean they sell a custard cream charm! IT IS FABULOUS!

  1. 2018 has been amazing for this company! After all, they opened a flagship store in China and were seen being worn by Jodie Whittaker while promoting Doctor Who! That’s without mentioning Lucy Lee presented Lily Charmed on QVC and SOLD OUT!

Lily Charmed for Christmas

Lily Charmed offers jewellery for all occasions, be it a birthday, anniversary or just because for you or a loved one, you are sure to find something to love.

What’s more, they completely come into their own over the Christmas period, offering the chance to include personalised cards (something they do offer all year around as well), with certain jewellery pieces. It means you can really offer your family or friends something really special and signed just for them.

Lily Charmed Competition

Of course, I mentioned a competition.

Lily Charmed have kindly offered us their Pear Necklace and Turtle Doves Necklace, in homage to the first two days of the 12 days of Christmas.

For this particular competition, we will be drawing two winners, with the first name out of the hat choosing which necklace they would like and the second receiving the other.

So how can you enter? Well you need to do is pop over to the Lily Charmed website and let us know using 8 words or more:
What item that Lily Charmed sell do you like the most and where would you wear it, or who would you gift it to.

Please remember as this competition is running over multiple websites to not only leave your name in the Gleam widget but also let us know which website you entered via so we can track down your comment.

Advent Day 1 Lily Charmed

A Special Gift From Moon Land

We were sent this product for the purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are our own.

You may remember a little while back when I posted about Jack’s fabulous gift from the Star Name Registry which they then kindly offered Olivia too. Well, I was recently contacted by someone from Moon Land who had been recommended my site from the lovely people at Star Name Registry due to the similar nature of their products. They asked if we would like to be gifted an acre of the Moon, Mars or Venus and with a son as space mad as Jack, I had to accept.

Jack was very kindly sent the certificate, framed and in a gift box for one acre of the moon with his name on it. As I mentioned, this boy is space mad so this made his day and he has proudly had it on display in our living room ever since it arrived.

We’ve actually got plans to move into a bigger place in the not too distant future and Jack is hoping for a Space/Solar system sort of theme. He now has both this certificate and his star certificate to adorn his walls, a couple of amazing globes and glow in the dark stars – I think he is all set, don’t you?

I love unique gifts for my children; something that other people may not choose to get them. This is one such unique gift – how many people can say they own an acre of the moon! I love that the certificate tells them their lot number and has their name on it so that they can show it off with pride.

The certificate itself is breathtakingly beautiful and has had many people remarking on it who have come round our house – they’re intrigued and want to find out more. I’ve been suggesting this would make a great Christmas gift – especially for kids who adore all things Space – and I think a few people have been considering it.

Jack is incredibly happy with his acre on the moon and really loves his certificate, having it pride of place in the living room – although he can’t wait until we move to a bigger property and can properly do up his new room to be all things Space!

He is so happy with his gift – and we’d love for you to be happy too! Moon Land have kindly offered one lucky reader the chance to win an acre of the moon for themselves – with your certificate professionally printed and posted out to you (without frame or gift box, I’m afraid). If you’d like the chance to win, just fill in the Rafflecopter below. The giveaway is UK only and ends at 23.59pm on the 11th of November 2018. Good luck!

Review & Giveaway : 60th Anniversary Paddington Bear Plush

Item sent for purpose of review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Can you believe Paddington Bear is 60 years old? A fictional character, beloved by children and adults alike, Paddington Bear has been a part of all our lives for such a long time now. He first appeared on the 13th of October 1958 in the book A Bear Called Paddington and he’s been with us ever since. The book was written by Michael Bond and illustrated by Peggy Fortnum and there have been more than twenty books since.

His look is absolutely iconic. If someone asks you to describe Paddington Bear, they will certainly describe the friendly bear from Peru as having his old hat, duffel coat and battered suitcase. They will probably also mention that he adores marmalade!

To celebrate such a big anniversary, Rainbow Designs have released an absolutely beautiful 60th anniversary Paddington Bear plush, inspired by the beautiful Peggy Fortnum illustrations, along with a selection of other fantastic anniversary memorabilia. This plush features the distinctive anniversary artwork, along with a beautiful checked scarf and is perfect from young children to those who collect Paddington Bear memorabilia  (the 60th anniversary badge is a lovely touch and will certainly make this a collectible)- it certainly isn’t to be missed.

Jack and Olivia were very lucky to be sent a 60th anniversary plush of their own – well, I should say Olivia as she quickly claimed it for her own and has been trying to take it everywhere with her! He is super cute and he really does look true to the original bear that Peggy Fortnum designed all those years ago. The label ‘Please Look After This Bear. Thank you.‘ epitomises Paddington Bear for me – I remember seeing it in the illustrations in my very old book almost thirty years ago – I think it may even have been my mum’s book before me!

Paddington Bear has hopefully been enjoying his new home with us and enjoying celebrating his 60th anniversary with those who love and appreciate him. The plush is super soft as you would expect it to be and very cuddly – as I type, he’s in Olivia’s bed, she loves him so much – we all know how much little ones love plush toys!

In the run up to Christmas, this would make a lovely gift for anyone, young or old, who happens to love Paddington Bear. Even my mum was quite taken with him and she’s almost as old as he is! This retails for around £24.99 and is available from a range of retailers including John Lewis.

Now how would you like the chance to win yourself your very own Paddington Bear 60th anniversary plush? Just fill in the Rafflecopter below for your chance to win. This giveaway is UK only and ends at 23.59pm on the 18th of November 2018. Good luck!

Nothing beats a night-out at the theatre – the West End has been lit up with big name shows drawing bigger and bigger crowds, whether they’re going to see Wicked, Hamilton or an old classic like The Lion King. In fact, one of the biggest new hits to come out of the recent boom in modern theatre attendance is Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, an erstwhile sequel to the books with an adult Harry sending his children off to Hogwarts. The decision to make this newest entry a play has drawn many a curious fan to see how the latest chapter in the story has shaken out.
