Bedroom Redesign Tips: Bringing Tranquility To The Bedroom

Your bedroom should be a place where you can relax at the end of a bust day. You should feel at peace as you unwind for a good night’s sleep; hopefully your bedrooms have mattresses made by hand for that extra bit of comfort!
But, depending on how you decorate your room, you can either make it easier or more difficult to get that restful feeling. Here are a few tips on how to turn your room into a tranquil retreat.
Colour
When selecting the colour of the walls of your bedroom, you want to think about how the colour choice makes you feel. Bright reds and yellows are too stimulating and are not a good option for a quiet bedroom.
Instead, design experts recommend light blues and greens. You can also choose a neutral palette such as beige or grey. If you want bolder colour in your bedroom, you can incorporate it in the accents.
Space
One of the easiest ways to create a tranquil feeling about your bedroom is to free up some more space. Less clutter equals more relaxation. An open space with fewer items will make a room feel more inviting.
So add storage or move items into other rooms to help promote a more tranquil vibe.
Lighting
The lighting you choose can play a big role in the atmosphere of a bedroom. Bright overhead lighting creates energy, whereas soft lighting fosters a feeling of warmth and cosiness.
Table lamps with shades are the ideal choice to add a soft glow to the room. If you don’t plan to read in your bedroom, try choosing a lower watt bulb in your lamps.
Bedding
Now may be the time to replace your old bedding set with something new. Choose a new colour scheme that complements the updated room. When you are choosing your set, don’t forget about the quality of the materials as well as the design.
Select something that feels luxurious and sophisticated. While you may be a bargain shopper, this is not the area to focus on price. Higher-quality bedding on a nice divan bed may cost more but they will reward you with added comfort. Also, select the right pillows to give your head and neck proper support.
These are just a few ways you can turn your bedroom into a tranquil oasis that you retreat to every night.

  1. Lovely tips! I love redesigning bedrooms to a theme because everything fits together perfectly and it's your own little space! (:

I like the tip, clearing clutter makes it feel more relaxing. If I had a cluttered bedroom, I would always be cleaning it, when I should be sleeping in bed.

    1. I am currently clearing all my clutter 🙂
