This year is the first proper year that Jack will be celebrating Halloween. Sure, we’ve dressed him up in the past but he hasn’t been trick or treating yet – he is going this year though! Jack is adamant that his costume is either going to be a skeleton, a Jack O’Lantern or a superhero – I’m hoping to have an actual decision before the day so I can actually buy it!
Our fireworks display actually coincides with Halloween this year which means it is going to be a huge rush to get all the kids trick or treating and then down to the local common in time for the fireworks and the fair. Some parents are trick or treating earlier in the week but we are planning to go out a little earlier when it first starts getting dark and make our way down to the fair slowly.

Jack is so excited about Halloween, he has been going on about it for weeks and I think he is looking forward to going trick or treating with his friends from nursery – they’ve all been discussing excitedly the costumes that they will be wearing and what they are going to be given! He is also adamant that I need to be wearing a costume – he is pretty keen on me being a witch which is quite handy as I do have a witch costume hanging around somewhere from a friend’s Halloween party from a few years ago!
It should be an exciting and fun weekend full of trick or treating, fireworks, the fair and lots of laughter. What have you got planned for Halloween?
