FATHERS DAY GIFT GUIDE: TECHNOLOGY & DIY

It is time for my final Fathers Day gift guide – this time, it is tech and DIY – something most Dads adore!

Keep your eyes peeled because I even have a giveaway at the end of this post…exciting, right?

Garmin are well known for producing quality tech products and these two would definitely be of interest to the sporty type: the fenix 2 is perfect for athletes and outdoor adventurers with a multitude of features whilst the Approach G8 is ideal for golfers with over 30,000 international courses loaded and directions of the green when your view is impaired – pretty sure Steve and his Dad would love something like this!

Targus have recently launched a new range of tablet cases – the Evervu range. I was sent out a product from the new range to try out and as claimed, they are extremely lightweight but offer maximum protection – a must have when it comes to expensive technology!
Leef have launched their new product, Bridge 3.0, the first USB 3.0 flash drive for moving pictures, movies and docs from Android smartphones to Windows devices, Macs and other Android devices  – a process that otherwise is extremely long and laborious. I personally have an Android and often have to send myself emails so that I can transfer pictures and documents. This would certainly make my life easier!
If your father or other half are big F1 fans, this may be the gift for him – Let’s Race is an exciting F1 racing simulator and experience that he is bound to love.
The Alarming Clock really caught my attention. Designed to make restless nights cease, it aims to improve sleep rhythm with a number of features. There is both a morning alarm and even an evening alarm to help you wind down. The alarm sound can be customised to your needs and the signal is mechanically created – simply place the ‘beak’ against a surface for a signal unique to your home. I am definitely intrigued by this!
The Wave Attache from PNY is an affordable product that makes transferring your files much smoother and easier – it can easily be slipped into a laptop bag or pocket and used on the go making it a very handy product to have.
I wish my home phone was as smart as the ones available from Gigaset. Whilst you could argue that a home phone would benefit the whole household, who can resist the inbuilt wifi and the apps available? I am barely off my phone so this would probably have to be prised out of my hands..
The Holi smart lamp is definitely on my wishlist for Christmas as I don’t think I can wait until Mothers Day rolls around! These can gently prepare you for waking up, transform your interior decor or simply sync with some music to provide some atmosphere to a room. With more than 50 themes with something suitable for every mood, this is something I think I could really do with.
Pioneer offer some amazing gifts for the music lover this Fathers Day including the new high end Superior Sound headphones designed for dance and clubbing lovers. I especially love these electric blue ones – they are aesthetically pleasing and I would be proud to own a pair.
We were recently sent the Worx QBit 4V Cordless Screwdriver to test out for the purpose of this gift guide. Do you ever find that you are constantly putting new furniture or other household items together? We always seem to be and we always seem to need the wrong bit! This has made our life so much easier (especially when I keep using the vouchers I win to buy Jack new things that require screwing together..oops!). This has definitely saved on stress in our house and will be used a lot over the next few months as we change Jack’s bedroom around to reflect that of a little boy, not a baby. Very impressed. This is available on Argos and Amazon.
Don’t forget to take advantage of the fab offers in Boots on electricals and other goodies… why not treat your Dad to a new shaver and save 10%?

The Gro Clock may seem like an odd gift for Fathers Day to some but if you are a parent who suffers with sleepless nights, this may be of interest to you. This is designed to help young children distinguish when it is time to get up – the star shows when it is night time and children must stay in bed until the sun appears on the clock – I think this is a really inventive way of teaching children about times of day and some models even come with a digital clock to enable older children to start learning the time. If this product interests you, why not enter my giveaway below? UK only, I’m afraid – it ends in 2 weeks time and the winner will have 28 days to respond.

Sugru is my final item of my gift guide series and something that was introduced to me as playdough for adults (I was very intrigued!) This sticks to almost anything and sets overnight. A cable slightly fraying? Use this and it will seal over. It can be used for preparing plenty of things with lots of ideas shown on their website. I have already used it on a worn out cable that I was about to bin – it now has a whole new lease of life!
